A rocket???
Is that this week’s episode? I haven’t seen it yet but this solidifies what I’m watching when I get home from the boozer, haha, it’s so ridiculous but so fun.

I can't wait to dive into this season. This is a show I need to binge because I get so confused, if I don't watch each episode immediately, I really don't follow along with the story. So, I need it to end before I start. LolWhat a strange, beautiful, bizarre almost Lynch-ian nightmare of an episode of Mr Robot last night. The mood was incredible, the layers of theming were great. Although I feel this season sure has taken its time developing the plot, its had some really nice standalone moments and episodes. The plot inches forward, but it’s so much more about the characters so far and I’m okay with that.
I kind of wished I had waited to watch it all. I know with some shows it’s nice to have a week to take it all in, and I do that with this show. But so far this season seems like it’ll be much better as a binge honestly.I can't wait to dive into this season. Yes, there are shows that work better for me as a binge. Mr. Robot is definitely one of those. And I've recognized that The Good Place is like that for me too. So, I've been saving the episodes.I kind of wished I had waited to watch it all. I know with some shows it’s nice to have a week to take it all in, and I do that with this show. Good to hear because I'm behind on my shows and will probably end up binging most of this season when I finally get around to it.I kind of wished I had waited to watch it all. Wait, would you mind explaining this?I felt obligated to watch earlier seasons just in case it was being counted for viewership ratings. But now that I know it’s safe and will end on its own terms, I feel better about being behind.
I’ve read (but don’t know the details) that viewership has been categorized as like real-time views, DVR+ 3 days, and, Iike, DVR +7 days? I think the idea is to identify viewer engagement by how anxious viewers are to watch, partially because DVR viewing means ad buys are less effective.
I don’t know how the explosion of streaming in recent years has changed that equation, if at all. Or whether anything I just said is technically accurate.
I would assume the weekly format is best for ad revenue, but that's just a guess. As a viewer I think both have their pros and cons, but I think I still slightly prefer the weekly system instead of the big dump. That is a really interesting thing to think about. Especially given the conversation about which shows are best binged and which shows are best revealed over weeks. The thought that network TV will stop airing shows on a weekly basis has crept into my mind a few times over that past several months. I'm honestly surprised that the premium channels (HBO, Sho, etc) are still dropping shows on a weekly basis instead of all at once. Everything moves so fast now, I wonder what the pros and cons of both approaches are. Which way is better for ad revenue, for garnering award purposes, etc.

Oh my dear heart, I also watch Riverdale, but I never seem to catch it when it airs and have to wait for the episodes to be available on Netflix. I also missed out on the first Nancy Drews, so I hope those get put onto a streaming service soon.someone else watches Riverdale!
I haven’t seen this week’s yet. I’m hoping this season will be better. Last season was a lot. I think they would benefit from going back to a 13 episode season like the first one.
FATHER TED IS THE BEST!! Why do Americans even try? Y'all know how to do comedy across the pond over there. So this is the first time I've been in here! Hello everybody!!

The one show that's critically acclaimed that I just found unimaginably bad? Breaking Bad!
1) yep since the start. I'm a tech nerd and programmer, so a show about a nerd seemed fun. I'm still watching it so I cannot answer either of your other questions. I love the way this show doesn't shy away from being depressing or even just quiet. I also like that it does address things that we know are going on with corporations hurting people.So... I've expressed my love for Mr. Robot several times in this thread. I've watched season 1 twice (it was even better the second time).
I just started the process of rewatching S2 and S3 in prep for S4 (S2 feels incredibly relevant in the era of Trump and aired before his election).
Anyways, it got me wondering (especially after people starting talking about the reasons they haven't been watching Succession)...
Quick poll:
1) How many of you have been watching Mr. Robot the whole way through?
2) How many of you watched S1 but then stopped. And if so, where did you stop?
3) How many of you have not watched it- and if so, why?
I had three episodes on the DVR that I watched yesterday (prior to the game--also @Teeeee Who Dat!!!). And I am glad I was able to binge them. I'm going to try to keep up with the episodes as they air, but I am not doing a great job of this. I think Mr. Robot is one of those shows that you really need to be in the right mood to watch, which is why I do think that binging this show would be a much more effective delivery system than week to week.I kind of wished I had waited to watch it all. Yes.
bananas.
Okay, so I have sort of caught up on some of my viewing--except for last night's Watchmen and Mr. Robot.

I was happy that they finally put a character in a movie that I could relate to. Also, the book is excellent.Yo, your profile pick tho. When I got into Chapman's graduate school for film, the film I wrote the required essay on was Ghost World.
It's out!
The look Lori gave him was pretty heartbreaking. I really liked that finale. That final scene of The Deuce. I was worried at first but I should know better than to question David Simon’s vision. That choked me up a bit. The man is a humanist and an amazing storyteller. Bravo!
