Ten Favorite Albums of the Decade (2010-2019)

My main take aways:
Frankie Oceans with 2 in the top 10 (Blonde at 1 should make those Blonde vinyl even harder to grab)
For the most part I agree with the top 10
They have 2 beyonce albums before Lemonade?!?!?
The new LDR in the top 20?!?!?
As much as I like blonde, I feel like TPAB should have been number one. That album just feels like a landmark in R&HH and feels like an album that will be talked about decades from now

Yeah I was not surprised by that top ten except for that Beyonce album at 3. Was definitely expecting Lemonade there. As I've thought about it more, the top 2 are probably my two favorite albums of the decade. Glad Joanna Newsom cracked the top 20. I forgot about her when I made my first run at a top ten a couple of pages back because she isn't on spotify.

I may disagree but I wasn't surprised at LDR in the top 20 considering their initial review. If anything, I appreciate the consistency considering the lack thereof is one of the things that frustrates me with PF. But I guess they've had a lot of editorial turnover over the last couple of years and this was a big chance to put their spin on it.

Top 10 was pretty predictable, I thought. Though for the life of me, I like Modern Vampires fine, but #7 for the decade? Neither of my top two even made the list; only four of my current top ten made it, I think. And I may have missed it, but no Benji, either? Kinda surprising. Either way, this list will help guide some of my listening for the next few months so that will be helpful.

Re: Benji, pretty sure the bridges between PF and Kozelek have been completely burned. I think it's a top 200 album of the decade but I don't blame them for leaving him off.

If anything, I'm surprised GKMC is so low. Would've predicted that Kendrick would have 2 in the top 10. Two years ago I would've said TPAB is definitely his best but GKMC is the one I've gone back to more frequently over the years.
Yea I agree with this. Gkmc is way too low at 18. I get that TPAB is the more important album and should be ranked higher, but GKMC is better than at least 6 albums ranked above it by my count.

I think they are all really strong, For Emma is my favourite, then it’d be i, I then 22 a million and then st. I don’t think it’s bad I just much prefer the others.
I agree they are all strong albums, it's just that For Emma doesnt do anything special, where Bon Iver just oozes perfection imo, not a bad or boring moment the entire album.

I’d agree with that description of it entirely. I understand what you mean about For Emma, I just think it’s beautiful and that beauty draws me in. The new one could pass it for me with more listens though, it’s really growing on me!
