Yeah from an American that’s like me saying that Nevermind is the only grunge album that deserves to be on this list. If it was a personal list for sure but overall perhaps not. One thing I’m finding refreshing about seeing peoples rundowns in this thread is that after years of seeing a very pro US bias on these forums there being a more fair representation of British music outside the big artists 60s and 70s.
I like more Britpop band than I like Grunge bands (I think).

I mean I don’t even think it is a grunge album…
Nevermind is a Grunge album based on how Grunge is defined. You might not like the term Grunge (as most of those bands did not either) because it’s much too generic of a term but as defined Nirvana was “grunge” even though they don’t really sound like Pearl Jam or Sound Garden.

Yeah I like Britpop more than grunge too, not hard in fairness, but like any scene dig beneath the headliners and you find a few interesting oddball things and a big pile of derivative shit. I kinda think there was probably more interesting things going on in the same countries at the same time.

I went through this the other day. I don’t accept the dumb way it was marketed.

Mudhoney, Tad, Seaweed, they were all grunge.

BTW, You will enjoy the Mudhoney chapter in Our Band Could Be Your Life. It really shines a light on the Seattle music scene and Sun Pop at the time.
Shit i forgot about Tad. I don’t know seaweed. I may never get out of Black Flag at this rate. Also, Fred Armisen should get Ben Stein’s role in the inevitable Ferris Bueller remake.
