My Monk box sounds good !

Is "Monkalicious" a word? If not, it should be! The first LP sounds great. It's nice and flat too, I'm sure it's harder to warp a 10", and the box is solid, with thick inner sleeves for each 10" replica. These recordings are about 65 years old, but they sound full of life. That's mostly Monk's genius I'm sure. Great combo on this first LP with just the trio (monk/bass/drums) and on drums either Art Blakey or Max Roach!

Super nice set, and there are still 19 left from what I saw on eBay. Median Discogs price (and lowest selling currently) is $30 more.
Also - Amazon selling for a bit more ($62). Recommended grab!

In fact, I bought it after reading THIS ARTICLE. You've been warned.

I have found that when I watchlist them, I am less prone to be on top of actually watching them, but I agree that it would be better to wait to the end to bid.
Yea I have the app on my phone and it alerts me when there is 15 min left on all watchlisted items. I tend to only put a bid on something early if I’m the first bidder for some reason haha

Ok fine I bought it.

Tempted to myself...but also picked up the Dylan box and too much other stuff recently. It does seem like a really good price though and I love Monk...hah
Yeah I picked up a lot of stuff recently too but it’s hard to pass this box up. I’ve been eyeing it ever since it came out and now that it’s at a fairly good price I have to pull the trigger. No regrets!

While we're on this topic, I feel like this is a safe space for me to mention that after a good month of resisting I have splurged and treated myself to Craft's Coltrane '58 8LP set. I just love the energy in the music and in Coltrane's evolving style. I had initially tried to go down the route of sourcing affordable pressings of some of the albums of the period, but I've read such positive reviews of the quality of this set and I am completely obsessed with Coltrane's work. So when I saw a relatively good deal, from a local retailer with whom I had a loyalty discount credit and who also happen to offer Afterpay, I caved. I know this isn't strictly a Blue Note matter but I felt I would be amongst understanding friends around here..

I used to have this on VHS back in the 80's , worth a look/listen . One Night With Blue Note .

This looks like fun. Has anyone had an opportunity to see the new doco movie Blue Note Records: Beyond The Notes? It looks cool from what little I've seen and read of it, hoping it will be accessible in the near future.

It's supposed to come to "select theaters", which sometimes just means NY and LA basically, so I guess most of us will have to wait for the stream/DVD.
