The Blue Note Thread

My local scratch and dent shop had mint ScoLoHoFo Tone Poets still sealed for $19.99. 3 copies. Also the recent Hutercherson TP for $31.99. Beck Sea Change for $15.99 and a bunch of other good titles. I only bought a sealed Interpol record and lucky me, it has a scratch down all of side B.

I’ve heard great things about that ScoToPo but was a bit too pricey for me to buy normal price since I’m not too familiar with the album. Bummer you got the dud Interpol

I'm tempted to go back and grab a copy. I like Scofield, and was listening to A Go Go earlier today, but unfamiliar with that TP album. It is from 2002 and AAA, I believe.

It’s a good record! But same boat. $50 is too pricey for me on that title. Hopefully on Discogs or Deep Discount in 6 months!

You really don't.
I actually already own it. I've listened to it twice. Are you sure the third time isn't the charm?? 🙉

Honestly, I'm not at all a fan of the "cover a current pop hit" shtick Blue Note was doing to help move units at the time, but that line up on that record is SO insanely good that even after having listened to it twice and been thoroughly disappointed, I'm starting to doubt my own memory and believe there's NO WAY it is as bad as I remember.

Be careful with the third run, it has the potential to become a nasty earworm.

Short term memory is the first to go. Trust your long term memory first.

I just wish they used RTI for both Tone Poets and Classics. I find the Optimal pressings for Classics can be a bit sibilant when the horns are hot, at least when listening on headphones.
Am I being a complete ass if I say covering your fingernail in acid and running it through the grooves should fix that right up for you? Maybe give the headphones a run through your ultrasonic cleaner as well.
