Some seminal stuff there. Nice score! This was a decent find. These 4 10" records were listed for £10 with little info, just 1 photo, and the promise that they were in "mint" condition. I'm always weary of statements like that (they very rarely are "Mint") but for that price I took a gamble.
They turned up yesterday and not only are they all original but they are indeed in fantastic condition (not mint, but no issues). A great score as the Bird & Diz alone can sell for a pretty penny.

Im pretty chuffed with them, I expected them to be bashed up reissues to be honest. Some seminal stuff there. Nice score!
Nice. What's the vinyl look like with this ice cream shop's dollar-bin records?Hit the ice cream shop last night, picked out loads from the dollar bins. Here are a dozen. View attachment 186544View attachment 186545View attachment 186546
Always have to check condition. Often NM/VG+, but can also be heavily worn. He also has $5, $10, and higher prices. Killer jazz outside of my range.Nice. What's the vinyl look like with this ice cream shop's dollar-bin records?
Sometimes I think we should have a separate thread called "Stale Grabs" that focuses entirely on thrift store and yard sale oddities we rescued from that gigantic pile of white gospel and classical music records.

Grabbed this from a thrift store today along with a random Dave Brubeck Dutch import. This is a band called "The Chimps" although it doesn't actually say that anywhere on this record. It was a side hustle of another group called "Thomas A. Edison Electric Band" and they quickly spit out two Chimps albums as a way to capitalize on Monkees-mania in 1967. I'll let the overly-excited author of their discogs page take it from here:
So yeah the album begins with two Monkees songs which are followed by a goofy yet forgettable original tune called "The Chimp's Theme" before you're suddenly greeted with this:
Then it goes right back to harmless pop for the duration of the album, although that psych-ish organ starts creeping back into the album's closing track.
In conclusion there are worse things I could've spent three bucks on.
