Does BlueOs have a native Bandcamp app? I love how I can listen to anything on Bandcamp for free. Not sure what the resolution is but it sounds better than Spotify.

Not natively. It’s AirPlay so it’ll be compressed to cd quality if it’s a hi res file. If you’re using Bandcamp natively it will depend on the band and what they uploaded. I think all are CD quality but there is a lot on there that is higher too. It’ll be better than Spotify regardless because it isn’t even at CD quality. It’s still better mp3 level sound quality.

Volumio is native but yeah, some I buy are cd quality and some are 24bit.

I don’t know, haven’t played around with it enough.

Attempted to set up Dirac but it was picking up too much noise (the dishwasher which wasn’t even running was making a weird humming noise until I opened it) and then nap time ended… so gonna have to convince the wife and kid to go do something without me because it really didn’t like their noise.

It's very sensitive. I turn off my furnace, fridge, everything in the vicinity of the room when I'm running it

Honestly. I love the amp but reading this post kinda ticks the final box of why I went Leak 230 over 3050. Got knows how it would have read a hyperactive omnipresent border collie

This is about setting up Dirac, the amp doesn’t care. I imagine Dirac doesn’t care either after setting up.

Yeah. Dirac was the one bit that was making it a difficult choice (although there was a Lyngdorf in contention too for the room correction). But in the end I went for a non correction after watching a vid of someone setting it up and realising there was no way Doggo was going to accept that process without kicking off.

Decided to give the Qobuz a go again on a free trial. Using it through the streamer wasn’t awful, the MX-Stream uses a custom implementation of volumio. If it’s ok on CarPlay, doubtful, I might give it a go longer term.

Ended up doing it because I was trying to stream this and AirPlay was acting the bollocks and just kept cutting out. This has been rock solid, probably because the streamer is doing everything, the phone is just a remote. Also sounds appreciably better!

Okay, you can use Amazon native, but it’s weird. You have to be on Wi-Fi on your phone (I had turned it off because I had some difficulty getting my network to recognize the amp - force stopping the amp fixed it though). Anyhow it’s a pretty generic interface but the music sounds much better through it.

@Joe Mac how long is the quboz trial? I wouldn’t mind sort of testing out each interface and a/bing sound.

30 days over here.

Listening to the Ziggy Stardust 2012 remaster on Amazon right now. It’s very clear, nice separation, crisp. It’s also a little… sterile. I don’t know if that’s just years of hearing it with less fidelity, the Vinyl being better or the dac. I’m not sure I like it. I do know that I’m gonna have a lot of fun listening to stuff though:

Seems to have a 60 day free trial at the moment?

Quboz is more of what I want out of a streaming service. I believe they will win out. Will give it a week or so before I decide for sure.
It’s been my favorite. Better library than Tidal and better app. I’m a Roon guy so I rarely use the app itself anymore. I’m similar to you too in that we’re a two service household, I have Apple Music for the car and anything outside of the house really then Qobuz for at home
