The football thread RenegadeMonster is looking for: NFL talk

Of which, only 16.7 million people in this country watched. In this country, NFL is king and long will he reign. Football is the world's game. The NFL is America's game. The Super Bowl is the last shared American television event. Nothing else comes close.
I know. I just like to tease. I lived through Super Bowls while in college and try to watch it when I can down here. It's very entertaining. The down side is we don't get the commercials here. Plus I like to keep up with pop culture, and not watching the halftime show leaves you out of the conversation.

You're not missing much on the commercials. They all tend to suck now sadly. There might be a good one or two but the majority are bad or are movie trailers that are quickly available on YouTube. I don't watch the NFL as much as I used to but the Super Bowl is still a fun event every year even if the game isn't that great.

Seriously though, It’s meta comedy and if you’re not familiar with or a fan of Tim Robinson/Sam Richardson these would be terrible but the idea that Totinos knows that the main people eating their product are stoned college kids and tailoring a commercial specifically to them is great!
It's what we did anyways. Smoke blunts and take shots of Captain Morgan for every TD. Liquid Velveeta on the Crockpot. It takes me back.

I have enjoyed Sports Bluesky since Trump/Elon bought the election but with Twitter crashing during the opening of The NFL free agency is a boon to the system.

If you need some sports follows here ya go…
(leans a bit Chicago centric but lots of good national follows too)

Brandon Graham has an argument for the greatest Eagle in franchise history

15 years with the same team (check out the years and positions on this list). Quickly labelled a bust by a reactionary fan base and media. Survives a transition from a 4-3 DE with IDL on pass rushing downs position to a stand up 3-4 OLB due to Chip Kelly being a dork. Steadily becomes elite in advanced stats like pressure rate. Eventually loved by same reactionary fans and media. Has the greatest play in franchise history (Tom Brady bereft on the turf!). Goes to another Super Bowl. Gets injured in a Super Bowl year just to return to the Super Bowl win and re-tear the same muscle. Not a Hall-of-Famer but definitely an Eagles Wall-of-Famer.
