The football thread RenegadeMonster is looking for: NFL talk

Yeah I'm thinking more early 2000s up until Andy Reid arrived. We've been pretty solid since he got here in 2012, but being a Chiefs fan during the Scott Paoli/Todd Haley era was awful.
Marty Shottenheimer era was basically all about being great in the regular season and then getting spanked (usually at Arrowhead) in the playoffs. Derrick Thomas though was fun to watch.

Also Dick Vermeil kinda did the same thing with those Priest Holmes, Tony Gonzalez and “the human joystick” Dante Hall teams. Awesome regular seasons followed by playoff choke jobs.

Martyball was something I didn't particular enjoy to watch although at least they were consistently getting to the playoffs even if they couldn't win. After he resigned in 99 the Chiefs only made it to the playoffs 3 times in following 13 seasons and lost their first game in every single time. The 2003 season was definitely fun to watch though, I still have my Priest Holmes jersey from back in the day.

Yeah, and strangely enough, the year I moved to KC, Haley’s team won the west at 10-6 with Cassel at the helm. They proceeded to get destroyed by the Ravens in the playoffs. To this day I’m not sure if I’ve seen a worse division winner.
