Yeah, I wish they would consider these things in picking which shows to press to vinyl. One of the reasons I'm out on many of these sets.

Yep. The GOGD may be the reason why I own a CD player. I love vinyl, but CDs just make more sense to me for live shows

My wife got it for me for my birthday. It repeats a lot of the same "lore" that you get from documentaries like Long Strange Trip, but I did enjoy the illustrative style.

Couple of things. I watched the amazon doc over the last few days. Pretty good and the footage was great. I will be having a cross country drive thanks to covid soon. I'm going to raise the jolly rogger and get some full shows. I've never listened to a full show but have liked everything in the vmp box and mofi skull and roses. What shows should I be looking for?

these are shows that are often placed high on lists of best Dead shows. Different eras and styles are present here and they are all easy to find. There are plenty of other gems, but since you’ve never listened to a full show, I think this is a good primer and as obvious as these picks may be, they are considered legendary shows for a reason. Bear’s tape of NYE 1977 was recently uploaded to Etree and is stellar. Highly suggest that.

I think the "Formerly the Warlocks" set from Hampton 1989 is great. It's a cool set because they had a lot of bust outs they hadn't played in awhile and it was sort of a surprise set of gigs, so you get the late 80's, firing on all cylinders with Brent band playing some real chestnuts.

For $150, I'll save my money for Dicks 36 on 7LPs. Ouch at that price.
