The NBA Thread

Sixers could win it all this year but they need old Harden, not liability Harden. But I'm not sure he exists anymore as a consistent presence.
100% this is the take. I think harden tonight was enough though. Others may disagree, but I think if Harris and Maxey continue to play the way they have this series harden being a hyper efficient playmaker who can steal one game a series is enough.

Edit: the one game a series will have to be a much higher production game as we progress through the playoffs

Boston and the Heat will be fairly tough for them to get through IMO (if they both advance). That Boston defense has been scary. Jojo will probably still get his but not sure the other guys will.

Harden seems to always crumble in the playoffs though from what I recall. If he’s not getting foul calls, he shuts down.
I think with how dynamic Embiid has looked so far, and his ability to stretch the D with his new legit mid range jumper and ability to hits 3s, this will mitigate how much Harden will feel the need to run around foul hunting in the long term. In theory. But then again Harden was just jettisoned from a team with a certain other 7 footer who has pretty much the exact same skill set as Embiid, but better. So maybe I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about.

Speaking of the Bucks, I think the accurate description of these first two games is "shitting the bed." Chicago had been pretty bad the last few months, yet now looks like world beaters and Milwaukee looks like they couldn't hit a barn with their shooting. I don't think this is sustainable for Chicago, but I'd like Milwaukee to stop screwing around.

I think Chicago has been bad against good teams all year. A little surprised to see the bucks struggle tonight but they can take over a series easily I think

damn...sprained MCL for Middleton.
This is such a weird year. There is little separation between the teams, so untimely injuries will play an even bigger part than usual.

The Suns were the one outlier, but now are brought down to earth by an injury to their MVP-caliber player. As much as I think CP3 deserves a ring, I’m more excited to see how far the Warriors will go. Unpredictability: kind of fun!

Chris Paul is fully cursed, like, legit actual cursed. And also will never will a playoff game reffed by Scott Foster. 0-14.

Simmons coming back for the Nets could be interesting. Adds another dimension to them if he can play decently and doesnt show a ton of rust.

Warriors are very fun to watch too.

He's lost his last 14 but has won I think one or two when Foster reffed his teams in the playoffs. Still pretty insane.
