Since
@sahomerrocks hasn't been present for over two weeks time, I'll provide some thoughts from G1 last night. Hope he comes back soon and adds to discussion here.
1) It is impressive how GSW almost always seem to prevail in the rebound battle by double digits in all of their wins, egregiously so in the series against DEN and throughout the series against MEM. The off ball movement on both sides of the game is truly a sight to behold.
2) Andrew Wiggins defensively has held his own 1on1 with Luka Doncic. It seems that GSW's most critical step game planning has been addressed (for G1, at least). I am interested to see how DAL will adjust to this matchup (likely running screens to get mismatches on Curry/Poole?).
3) Steph Curry equalized Doncic on the scoreboard, and yet still pulled in five more boards. To that end, GSW will almost assuredly win every game where Steph and Doncic cancel each other out. Dinwiddie provided some spurts, but Jalen Brunson was a brickfest for most of the contest and Dorian Finney-Smith needs to be more aggressive. The disparity in depth of both teams is apparent. If they go down 0-2, DAL might need to drop down to a 7-man rotation.
4) Obvious to point out that Doncic has to play better, 6/18 FG doomed them with over half of those attempts being from outside the arc. Some poor defensive lapses, as well.
5) DAL took 10 more three-pointer attempts than from inside; poor offensive scheme against GSW. On the other hand, while GSW also didn't convert efficiently from three, GSW pulverized DAL inside to the tune of 68% FG from inside and ultimately shot 56% from the field as a team. Pretty sure that GSW will also win almost all games where they end with 50%+ from the field.
Just some things I've thought about.
