The NBA Thread

Think I may actually follow the NBA this year. Always been more into pro football and baseball and college basketball, but never really had a natural "in" to NBA. Followed the Pacers for a bit in high school, so think I'll hop back on that train.

Indy is a fun team to watch! They have a couple of my Wildcats - TJ and Mathurin, plus I love watching Halliburton play.

Honestly, everyone here already assumes Seattle is all but guaranteed a team at this point just waiting for Adam Silver to announce it.

Think Vegas will be the other city that gets a team and LeBron will retire after the season and join the Vegas ownership group.

We got really close to getting the Hornets about a decade ago. We 100% have the space for one, but idk if the campaign is still there.

Yeah, outside of Vegas and Seattle in the US, the only other US cities that jumps out at me would be Nashville and Kansas City but if cities like OKC and Salt Lake City can be big NBA cities then why not Louisville, or St Louis or Buffalo.

I think they might go international before that, either Canada or Mexico City.

Yeah, I think Seattle and Vegas are locks at this point.

I agree that additional expansion probably makes sense, I don't think there's a clear cut next choice, but certainly Nashville, St. Louis/Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Another Florida team, Buffalo would be among possible options.

As to Canada, I think there's a lot of hesitation because of how poorly Vancouver went. Montreal seems like a natural choice if they go to Canada. Mexico City seems like it would be a travel nightmare given the rigors of the NBA schedule.

Mexico City supposedly the altitude is crazy too, worse than Denver.
