Hey! There’s that comment about Super Furry Animals I thought I made last night! This is fun.
why would I ever do that?
@gafacaode and @Gavaxeman probably have thoughts on this one.
The furrys! I adore this album. Actually I adore everything this madcap band of stoned Welsh misfits made. Gruff knows his way around a hook. Fuzzy logic is probably my favourite though.
That's actually the tour I saw them on. I'd be down for that.Hopefully we get a nice 20th anniversary press of Love Kraft this year. Lazer Beam is a great tune!
It’s on Qobuz. That's actually the tour I saw them on. I'd be down for that.
I just noticed Love Kraft isn't on Apple Music in the US. I was so ready to listen to that next.
Is there no way to browse their catalog before subscribing? Trying to see if they have other UK only released albums that I go looking for that aren't on Apple Music. If it has the original Manics "Know Your Enemy" on there sign me up!It’s on Qobuz.
It does not have KnownYour Enemy. I bought Know Your Enemy, Postcards from a Young Man and Wire’s first solo album on CD so that I could listen to them while I was deep diving their catalog the last few years. Is there no way to browse their catalog before subscribing? Yeah, I see that. I have Know Your Enemy and Postcards CDs packed away in my basement somewhere. Sometimes I debate picking up the MOV version of Know Your Enemy but the reviews don't seem kind.It does not have KnownYour Enemy. You should be able to sign up for a free month.

Really I just want "Royal Correspondent" and the real version of "So Why So Sad".I have it. It’s pressed on one disc and so it’s really really really quiet because it’s almost 40 minutes a side which is absolutely insane. It does sound ok when you crank the fuck out of it but it’s not a patch on the reimagined one from 2022.

They removed "Underdogs" from a reissue????That’s how I feel about the reissue of send away the tigers and underdog, probably way more so that those.

My default elevator pitch for SFA is that they're like if The Flaming Lips were Welsh.Oh, I love Rings Around the World. Fantastic album. I found out about the Super Furry Animals via Kliph Scurlock when he was the drummer for the Flaming Lips and kept posting about them. After he was let go by the Lips he ended up working with Gruff Rhys and other SFA guys for a bit as well.
Anyway, the Super Furry Animals to me have always been sort of a weird love psychedelic love child between the Flaming Lips and the Beach Boys. Great harmonies & melodies with just enough weirdness thrown in. 5/5 album for me.
