Yeah from the stores over here that have them listed it seems to be just the black. My local doesn’t have them. I don’t mind that especially as the black are listed €8 less a record than the colour which is actually kind nuts!

the color variants are $3 more here so not a huge difference. i'd usually get the color variant in those cases.

Yeah a euro or two I probably would too in store. But the euro Waits store is €30 v €38 which is a bit much, that’s €40 for all 5 or €32 for the four I need, especially as it’ll involve shipping on top of that too unlike the local. Also got to give the small local businesses my € wherever possible.

Remember how disappointing the last ones were .. ? Think I'll wait, I have a Japaneses Franks which I'm happy with , might pick up Bone Machine and Rain Dog down the track, these will be available for w while.

Anyways Hope they DO do a great job on these, the albums deserve it.

That is where my head is at. But I might just grab Bone Machine as a pre-order to check out the pressing quality

I got all of the reissues last time around. I thought closing time was sub par even without comparing to an earlier copy I had but the rest sounded fine but I don't have other copies to A/B test.

Which were considered disappointing?

The pressings were average but the more disappointing thing last time was the fact that they completely revised the mix. Closing Time was the worst but all the new mixes were worse than the originals.

With these ones at least the remasters are already up on the streaming services so we can sample them now before putting any orders in.

Yeah all of them. The new mixes they adopted for them was, to my ears, appreciably worse than the originals. At least with those a bit of hunting got me the rhinos and Japanese pressings for ok money. That’s sadly not possible with these albums.

I have three Asylum japanese pressings (Nighthawks, Saturday and Small Change) and all three destroyed the reissue copies I had. I'm digging to find the rest of the Asylum releases as japanese pressings.

I also have a japanese Rain Dogs (Island records) but that one is sadly mediocre. My 2009 Swordfishthrombones is ok, but not great. The last one I have on vinyl is a 1987 german pressing of Franks Wild Years that's a great pressing but is pretty beat at this point.

I'm definitely hoping these new Island records pressings deliver on sound quality.... I could definitely use upgrades.

The rhino 2010 of the first 4 are also excellent if you can’t find the Japanese for any of them. I have all 4 of them and then the Japanese OG for the rest of the Asylum years.
 
This may have been addressed but indulge me as the search function isn't working or I'm too lazy....whichever excuse inclines y'all to help...

I haven't paid too much attention to the upcoming REs besides titles and dates.

For the first three, official site says 01 Sep but multiple other sites say release of 22 Sep. Is there one date and, if so, which is correct or is the official store holding back a wider release by three weeks?

The first three chronologically are due out on 1st September. The other two are due out on 6th October.
