Upcoming/Recent Shows

No kidding, it's been awhile. I've played there and yet I don't remember that window behind the stage.
They may have just done that recently? I think there is new ownership or management following Covid maybe. I know they had closed at one point but then there was some type of rally to keep it open.

Bummer.
Shows are always better when the crowd gets into it.

Crowds around here usually suck - I was pleasantly surprised with how lit the crowd was at RTJ last weekend. Definitely made for a much better show!

It can be so hard to turn on the juice for a dead crowd. Performing in high school classrooms was definitely a good training ground to work through that, but even still... nothing beats a good crowd that's clearly into it.

Wow! Super impressed by this afternoon's radio performance by Cecilia Castleman. Her upcoming album was produced by Don Was! Humble, down to earth interview.

EDIT: WHOA, Pino Palladino on bass, Abraham Laboriel Jr on drums, and Benmont Tench on organ for her album. Now those are some names.

a real Jekyll and Hyde show scenario that's been happening the last 3 years, where I see the Osees on my birthday and something totally different the night before.

both shows were great...BC,NR was stunningly beautiful and OSEES was relentlessly aggressive. fantastic evenings all around!

Last Thursday I saw Mike Watt’s current project mssv at the Griffin. It’s a big, dark, dungeon like bar in the front with a small room in the back. There were maybe 30 people total. The set was a solid hour and was very good. I didn’t take any pictures because my camera sucks in the dark.
Fun fact: I proposed to my wife in this same room many years ago.

Friday, Saturday & Sunday was the Life Is Beautiful festival. My wife and myself attended Friday and some of Saturday.
This year marked its 10th anniversary and the second year under current owners, Rolling Stone. This once very unique festival has now been scaled back with its immersive interactions and there are rumors swirling that the festival will move location. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Killers were fantastic, but this year seemed more focused on capturing your money.

Depeche Mode in Mexico City.

Was nice to see a visual tribute to Andrew Fletcher…as the song went on, his picture remained on the screen but appeared to age.

Also, an INSANE amount of unofficial merch tents outside of the venue…seemingly 100’s of them. Official merch was inside, but I guess Mexico is still the Wild Wild West with respect to merch.
