Winistorfer is on a business trip in Detroit right now and complained of pre-interview jitters, so it's definitely not gonna be Motown.

When I asked a couple months ago about vocal groups like Supremes or Temptations being considered for Classics, he said something like "of course, but we have something else planned for one of those bands coming up"

Sounds like Motown Anthology....
 
So after being on vacation I finally able to listen to my third shipment. Is it weird that I think When the Heart Emerges Glistening is the best album of the Anthology? I understand why, it's Akinmusire's best album while the other albums are the 3rd or 4th best by that artist, but it just seems a little odd that the most recent album is the best of the six. I guess I'll take it as a positive for the future of jazz and Blue Note.

Shorter and the Akinmusaire albums are my two favorites from the whole box set. If anything, this anthology led me to discover Ambrose and finally get a good copy of Schizophrenia after years of hunting for one.
 
They sent out an email in early July. Everyone is getting a new Dexter cover and new Shorter vinyl. Those that needed new liner notes need to request them and they will be shipped together.

"Speaking of making it right, what’s become known around VMP as the 'Anthology Apology' shipments, will ship by mid August and include corrected Dexter Gordon jackets & Wayne Shorter discs, as well as a new liner notes booklet, for those who have requested one."

Funny, someone PIFed the Ambrose and I grabbed it and I mentioned to the PIFer that that was the one album in Anthology that I was really wanting, so I'm with you on that one. Again, Anthology as a whole was a great idea, but I think if they truly want to make the series something special they need to do more homework and tighten up the QC on the packaging and vinyl.

Oh geez guys, we just realized that the warehouse switched the labels for the syphilis and the penicillin. For those of you that have already received the syphilis that was labeled as penicillin and have not yet consumed it, we're sending out replacements in 2025 when our next VC injection comes through. For those of you that have already consumed the syphilis, please see your primary care doctor immediately. Gosh golly, we're just a few people who really love music. We're really trying. Hang tight, my dudes.
 
Alright so I'll just throw this out there again, if anyone has a screwed up damaged anthology box, a screwed up damaged booklet or a screwed up damaged Lou Donaldson and you want to get rid of them please lemme know. I think these are hopefully all I'm gunna need to complete the bLurNowte AntHorRgy BoRx... Assuming the effed up copies of Shorter and Dexter come through... I've got my crayons all ready for labeling. I'll obviously pay shipping and any extra you deem fit...

I'll sell you a perfect box and booklet for £117/$142. That's what VMP charged me for them on top of the 6 $23 Classics quality albums they sent me so I wouldn't be making a penny on them. Shipping to Canada would be £10.
