Right, and that's why it's a surprising pick but it does fit the description (and honestly any of those top 10 is the most obvious choice for the respective artist). And if it's Mono, that could be the selling point.

This is also the company that did Day at the Opera, Stankonia, and John Prine as Essentials. I'll agree they're usually for the underappreciated but not always.
They could be going for a wider audience here, at least at the start, knowing that Country is a tougher sell.

An AAA, all Mono edition cut by either KG or Ryan Smith would have me interested despite my owning a stereo OG

I believe there was an AAA from Sundazed in 2010. And the comments on that in discogs seem to say there's a KG AAA/ QRP cut of Folsom too.

I went looking for a good pressing of Folsom last year, and while I did find the AAA KPG San Quentin, as far as I could tell there was no AAA Folsom. Wes Garland did the 2010 Sundazed and that was all I could find. I got the MOV 2 LP which actually sounds quite good for MOV. Where did you see mention of a KPG Folsom?


EDIT- Oh wait, yes this one I remember. This is another where the barcodes are identical but one is mastered by KPG and the other is Wes Garland, only way to know if to open them. Yeah I gave up on this one and just got the MOV.

I own a perfect OG copy of At Folsom Prison so it would be a little disappointing to me personally as I don’t need to double up. That being said, it is the type of record that would get a lot of Non-Country fans to sub for since the “I hate all Country except Johnny Cash” quotient is quite high amongst your average music fan.

I hope @Lee Newman is right though; I would be all about a quality Honky Tonk Heroes.

Yeah, I’m not into Country at all. But I think the 60’s and 70’s are a bit of an exception to me! I like a bit of the 70’s Country releases I have. For the most part though, I’m definitely not a country fan!
