Cheers. I got the I impression there was some sort of scandal, but that might just be the whole bro country genre (which I'd also never heard off).

On the sub front, I don't know how it works. It's my last month on my annual sub this month. I'm not sure what the price hike would be to stay on. I don't think I can just extend as the new sub would be morethna what I'm currently paying.

Is bro country that auto-tuned, overproduced, pop Nickle-back kind of country music???

Because if so…I respect it…..but that sub-genre is unbearable for me musically! Bro country is really unattractive to my ears! Aesthetically, I feel like all genre’s of music I can find attraction in, but bro country I can’t! It’s like opera music - just very unsexy!

Like it can be! Sometimes that operatic whistle can be hypnotic in an intense, inducing way! Like you know the start of the album ‘LP1’ by FKA Twigs! That intro song has that haunting opera-like singing and I find it a bit hot in an odd psychotic way! 🙈🙈🙈

Rhyming slang surname so it’s not all bad. although I get that some English speaking folk piss themselves with indignation at the mere suggestion of that particular word… being from the north of England I’m naturally not one of them though
 
I'm thrilled the Country track is going to be Sam Hunt. Not because I'll buy it or anything, but knowing that Storf is going to die on this hill and spend a whole liner book and social media space Storfsplaining why it's actually a great album and everyone else fails for not appreciating it, while it is certain to be universally rejected by the subscriber base. I am going to enjoy the aftermath on all sides.
 
I like alot of Modern Pop Country and even “Bro Country“ as a guilty pleasure for driving or mindless background music. The worst part about it is that it gives a bad name to Modern Country in general as the general public believes thats all that Is being put out now.

I also have no issue with this track including some picks from this area. That said, I can’t stand Sam Hunt. The worst of modern country IMO, way more than ”Bro“ acts like FGL and Luke Bryan, are these RnB-lite acts like him, Dan & Shay, Kane Brown, etc. Seems like Pop stars who knew they couldnt make it in that genre so they jumped in Country instead. Just awful.

But one bad pick (IMO) doesnt invalidate how great this track has been, or give vindication to the folks claiming it was going to be “all bro country”. If we get one or even two picks a year of this type, thats not bad at all and still will have an overall better hit ratio than the other tracks (with maybe the exception of “Classics”)

One a year at most. There is too much great classic country to allow more than one of these picks a year.
