Vinyl Me Please Country

Grievous Angel is one of my favorite albums of all time and like a sucker, I got real loose on some edibles and thought "I'll give this a shot again, it looks super pretty."

Copy two is on its way. The whole thing is flawless (yes, surprised me as well) except for the last twenty seconds of $1000 Wedding, which is probably my favorite Gram song, where loud right channel static comes in and destroys the whole vibe. To their credit, customer service responded the next morning with tracking on a new copy, so hopefully it arrives unscathed. For what it's worth, except for that part, it was a huge improvement on my mid-00s Rhino pressing.

This is the GZ-Trademarked "Country Crackle" that has been added to all VMP Country albums.

I have had this on 3 of the 5 VMP Country albums I've gotten. (Cash, Dolly, and Emmylou). To be fair (insert LetterKenny meme), they sent me replacements immediately but...Dolly and Cash still had it and I gave up.

Fingers crossed I get a clean Gram Parsons.

Listened to Buck Owens at Carnegie for the first time yesterday. I liked it, but I also have the Buck Owens self-titled exclusive coming next month and I'm feeling like I don't need both. Which should I keep?

Looking at the track list the Live at Carnegie feels like a suspects choice especially with Storfy’s hyperbole around it being the second greatest country live album. It’s also about 25 minutes long from the track list posted as it seems to be the original track list

If you decide you don't want the S/T I would be interested in buying it from you. I was going to swap Sam Hunt for that but when I went to buy it was gone.

Second most influential is more accurate.
It's a pass for me; there are some great tunes, but there is a lot of stage banter.

I know it’s not for everyone but the banter is part Buck Owens charm. In Nashville, along with popularizing the Bakersfield Sound, Owens other big contribution was as a host. Owens was quite quick witted and funny, dude hosted Hee Haw for like 15 years. His studio albums are great too, my personal favorite is I’ve Got A Tiger By The Tail; but his live albums, especially Carnegie Hall, is where his personality really shines.

No it’s legit. I can’t wait to hear the Kevin Gray AAA remaster.
Kevin Gray cut it.....? Had I known that, maybe I wouldn't have cancelled my membership...
