Vinyl Me Please Essentials

I'm going to be twisted/torqued/pissed if it's Sister Rosetta Tharpe. I bought the exclusive when it came out. A bit disappointed because I was hoping for what's being suggested here. Or the album she did with Little Richard.

Same here! I was thinking about that today. They might not take a huge hit for ROTM, but I am willing to bet a huge portion of the extra records they sell came from us.

Yep, I'm sure overall it's a very minor hit to their bottom line. But I gotta think those low run exclusives stick around a lot longer now that the forum isn't there to FOMO the hell out of each other.

This month has the potential to be the first Essentials RoTM this year that actually interests me and that's a tough thing to reconcile with given my strong desire to keep my wallet closed to them.

You shouldn't fret about it. If it's a record you want, go for it. Separate the art from the artist so to speak.

Personally, it's the blind buys and purchases of records that I like/know only partially that will reduce drastically. I was already moving along that way anyway due to the increase in price and the lack of curated picks.

Yeah, this is basically where my head is landing too. It's become rare that anything they pick feels "essential" to me, so on the rare occasion that happens I won't feel bad for dipping in and selectively picking up things I really want. You're dead on about the extra purchases though!

Any indication of new sclusies this week? The one thing I'm going to miss from the old place is getting automatic email alerts every time the Exclusives Announcement thread got updated.

which will end up being their downfall with me, the minute I miss an exclusive, my buying is going to cut down significantly, probably only to Classics, Essentials, and true exclusives

This is very far from Reddit's worst qualities, but does anyone else find the formatting of the site to be atrocious and headache-inducing? A Magic Eye is more visually pleasing to me to look at than that cesspool.

Ha! Over the years, I've gotten used to the formatting. But I would only ever use reddit killing a few minutes. It's really a terrible place for a discussion or community (if even possible).

Nope, as far as I can tell. Nothing new on https://app.vinylmeplease.com/products/exclusives either. I think those would generally pop up on Tuesdays, so maybe at some point today we'll see something.
