Vinyl Me Please Essentials

I mean, this is my all timer.

I still scream "I AM A BANANA" and "My SPOON is too big" often.

My brother and I still use "I'm a consumer whore." "And how!" all the time.

Funny story. Once when I was teaching, I showed this to a small group of senior high kids I had in a drama class. They thought it was hilarious enough that one of them made a model of the anus-bleeding cloud in the metalworking shop out of rebar. It was spot on to Don's real drawing.

Ha, I was going to post Salad Fingers but didn't want to creep unknowing people out.

Salad Fingers was how I first heard Boards of Canada....and indirectly also how I first started listening to Aphex Twin, thanks to that Milkman video David Firth did that still gives me nightmares sometimes.

All this talk of memes and generations, I give you some OG internet right here...

Damnit it took like 10 years to get that hamsterdance song out of my head, thanks a lot

My little brother and I shared a computer class together in fall of '98.
Before class let up, for several weeks, he would pull up the hampster dance video, shut off the monitor, and then, in the mass confusion of exiting the room, turn the speakers on full blast. He tried to vary the computer he used.

No one but me ever knew it was him.

I liked it because the music video is hilarious in that he (goofily) plays every one in it and the CGI is terrible and he turns into a comet and the song is a serious earworm. I'm not sure what is racist about that.
Yeah same here, don't really see how that's racist.

If I recall correctly, the video was made to intentionally be kind of ridiculous and funny as well. Apparently the singer got criticized by people accusing his music videos of only being popular because they featured attractive women in them so he decided to make a video where literally every role was played by him in response.

Kids these days with their "This is fine" memes. I'm old enough to remember what KC Green was ORIGINALLY famous for.
