I just got the AP 2x45 Doors as well... but this is the last copy I'll ever need. That pressing, just like the other Doors AP's I have, is amazing.

Of course we get The Doors 2 days after I order the AP 45 RPM lol, I'm going to end up double dipping to compare surely.

No offense but the AP 45 RPM is gonna be better. I would spend the $$ on a record I don’t already an audiophile copy of, but that’s me.

That's stereo though, this VMP one is a mono mix.

I think I prefer the mono Doors which is nice. I have a pretty beat up early pressing that I kept over a stereo version. Not the biggest fan of the album but I’ll get it since it’ll probably be the best mono version I’ll ever get.

I wonder if the doors is speed/pitch corrected? If I remember correctly, the original Light My Fire was sped up a bit. Possibly the whole album as well?

Lots of interesting stuff among those 12 announced records, but the only thing I'm really excited about is Darkside, which falls right after my grandfathered subscription price ends. Decisions, decisions....

Yeah very interesting, they link the Doors 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition in the article as well that has live versions. That would make it much more compelling.

Not sure on The Doors. I see the Rhino reissue at my local all of the time and have heard good things about it. I definitely don’t need that 7”. I’ll probably spin it once and then just store it away.

I'm so excited that VMP is doing Darkside's Psychic as the essentials next month. I REALLY hope they continue this trend of complementary exclusives, like with MIA, and drop Psychic Live as an exclusive. That live album is unreal, I listen to it more frequently than the original studio album. I hate their exclusive pricing, but I'd make an exception for Psychic Live

The Doors are one of my favorite bands of all time. But their catalogue has lots of solid to great reissues already that are easy to get.
