I don’t own Blonde on Blonde, so I’ll probably tack it on for December.
You might like it. This Rob Dylan guy seems to craft some interesting songs.I don’t own Blonde on Blonde, so I’ll probably tack it on for December.
I love Dylan and have it on compact disc. It’s not my favorite by him. It’s got some of my favorite songs (Memphis Blues, Pill Box Hat, Sad Eyed Lady). But it’s kind of like the white album to me, it’s a little all over the place and a rough listen for me.You might like it. This Rob Dylan guy seems to craft some interesting songs.
Like the White Album, Blonde on Blonde is one of those that has me like, "my god is there another song to go here?" But then that song is something like Memphis Blues and I just can't turn it off.I love Dylan and have it on compact disc. It’s not my favorite by him. Strangely, I think my relationship with Blonde on Blonde has been similar. It probably doesn't even crack the top ten of my favorite Dylan albums.I love Dylan and have it on compact disc. Oh shit, I can’t imagine listening to it on an ort. Good god man.I think my problem with it is that I hate Rainy Day with a passion and that’s the opener. And then it’s all very much in the high register and can be quite fatiguing to listen to. Back when the 2M blue was giving me sibilance issues it was almost unlistenable to.
That said after the opener and with a more balance system I do like it a lot, from track 2 onward.
Moses feels way more essential than Nebraska after my first stream lolI think Moses was pre-Essentials label... but, yeah, that's a great record! That St. Vincent record was a new release RotM, too.

Also, totally agree on Rainy…
But you can probably hear a bit of the hushed Nebraska influence in that Moses album too, right? And I mean no disrespect to Aromanticism, 'cause that album is effing gorgeous.Moses feels way more essential than Nebraska after my first stream lol
I said that Moses was great... I didn't say it was Nebraska.Moses feels way more essential than Nebraska after my first stream lol
Ngl, I haven't even listened to Ornette yet, I guess I'm going in blind cause I know its one of those formative jazz albums but.... I think I should probably listen to it. Free Jazz has been very hit or missTry as I might, I just can't get into Bruce. I swapped for The Shape of Jazz To Come. I love Check Your Head so that's an easy one. I already own Blonde on Blonde on SACD so I don't think I need an LP version. Not sure what I would swap for. So I need to decide if I want a free jazz album, an album I will listen to more than once, and something unspecified or a swap credit for the 3 month fee I would be paying. I guess I have a while to decide. I wish VMP still did artist exclusives related to the Essentials/other track like they did with De La Soul and MF Doom. It would be worthwhile to me in keeping the sub if I knew they were doing some other Beastie exclusives like Ill Communication.
They delayed the store drop from Weds to Fri this week, and part of me wonders if it's because some tie-ins are coming...I wish VMP still did artist exclusives related to the Essentials/other track like they did with De La Soul and MF Doom. Beyond Fiona, I can't think of the last exclusive I was really interested in buying. I went with Odesza simply for the free shipping and I had heard enough of the tracks in advance. Was bummed they didn't do any Tribe exclusives but I think they're saving one for RHH at some point. They delayed the store drop from Weds to Fri this week, and part of me wonders if it's because some tie-ins are coming...
Yes, I think I would go with this one just because it's so highly revered but I am definitely not a free jazz fan.Ngl, I haven't even listened to Ornette yet, I guess I'm going in blind cause I know its one of those formative jazz albums but.... It’s a barren wasteland nothing but apple-cheeked college football fanatics and corn.I said that Moses was great... I didn't say it was Nebraska.
I love Nebraska...
The Springsteen album...
Not the state...
I've never been...
I'm sure it's...
Fine?
He’s from a much scarier place… Bakersfield!...and children of said corn.
But also not Korn. Jonathan Davis wouldn't live there.
