Vinyl Me Please Rap & Hip Hop

Rick Ross’ “Teflon Don” should just be a store exclusive. Like, that album is nothing special in my opinion, outside the luxurious, sexy, sleek “Aston Martin Music”, I don’t find anything else on this album exceptional. By the way, the two-part chorus on Aston Martin Music is something really unique and special. Chrisette Michelle’s lightweight, breezy, confident vocals against that southern crunk, R&B production, then the switch to Drake’s moody, reflective vocals against that pulsating, dense production is just incredible! 🔥🔥🔥

Still, if it’s Teflon Don, this will be the first time I’m not getting a R&HH ROTM. Like, this album just really isn’t for me! Rick Ross has this persona of him being this big Mafia person involved heavily in crime who lives a glamorous life but loves his family etc - bit is so boring in the way he portrays and does it. And I feel like Rick Ross relies heavily on his husky voice to try and get his point across. His bars are basic as fuck.

Like, its such a disappointing R&HH ROTM pick! Especially after El-P and Blackalicious!

Fucking can’t stand Rick Ross to be honest!

also when are they going to do the young thug ROTM since they are clearly good friends with thug and could clearly do so much fun on green vinyl and sell out (even the deluxe edition on red)

Exactly what I was gonna suggest. And I’d be totally down for, because Pilot Talk 2 is my favorite in the trilogy.

my favorite of the trilogy as well. I would cave and sign back up for Pilot Talk II. VMP has a history of disappointing me so luckily it will not be Pilot Talk II 😂

Left back by little brother

or...............
Das racist 4xlp of shut up dude & sit down, man

I remember Storf saying he sold his Das Racist albums after allegations came out against Kool AD.

Such a fucking odd thing to do. I've never understood not being able to enjoy someones art because of something they did after it, or alleged.

Yeah and I bet he didn’t sell his Miles Davis albums because it’s okay if it’s Jazz .
how long before someone mentions that age old beatles meme

i do know storf has BIG beef with nas now with his allegations, and i think back in the days of the first anthology one of the choices for modern was the ambrose akinmusire album that had a lot of kool AD in it and WTHEG was not even an option (even some pretty leftist leaning friends of mine went "but kool AD did the best he possibly could in apologizing for what he did")

This is so bad to say, but I feel like Rick Ross’ image and just persona and voice and everything, just makes me go “ewwww”. Like, for me, I don’t want any Rick Ross in my vinyl collection because it’s just unattractive lol 🥊🙅‍♂️

Rick Ross and DJ Khaled are just both ewwww to me 🙈😝

And lol at Storf saying Teflon Don is a stone Cold Classic.....don’t even think that album made a decade-end list in anything or is an album that’s aged well at all. It’s so whatever 🤦‍♂️🤧
