How about some country disco??
Omg, I’m sorry but I think this song is not good at all! I didn’t enjoy the song at all....
It’s like, a very ugly and cheap sounding version of Chromeo or Tuxedo or Donny Benet!

This guy has an amazing voice for a 77 year old! Sorry You Couldn’t Make It is definitely more on the soulful side, but the album didn’t grab me unfortunately. I thought there was nothing special about this album, but good on Swamp Dogg for continuing to record and release music! If you have not checked out Swamp Doggs - Sorry you couldn't make it from this year you should. Its a 77 year old soul singer who grabbed his last chance at recording a Country album and is more in the vein of tge ray charles country albums, which you liked if i remember correctly

Back to the drawing board...I liked the production towards the end of the song a lot when the piano comes in, and the production in general is not bad, but I just don't like the chorus and Paul Cauthen's vocals much at all. I don't like this song though, it's bland overall. But I can imagine a lot of people in this forum loving this track!
A country song I actually really adore and love, is the song "Waitin' Around To Die" from Townes Van Zandt's debut album 'For The Sake Of The Song'! I love the production on that song, paired with the dark lyrics and honest and gripping sentiment of the track ! It's a song that really grabs me! It just sounds so surreal, semi-suspenseful and cinematic! That's probably my favourite country song! ♥Back to the drawing board...
Have you listened to Willie Nelson’s Red Headed Stranger Album? It’s a concept album about a preacher that wonders the west after he catches his lady cheating on him and shooter her and her lover dead.A country song I actually really adore and love, is the song "Waitin' Around To Die" from Townes Van Zandt's debut album 'For The Sake Of The Song'! It MIGHT be my favorite Country album of all time. No, I haven't heard this Willie Nelson album but I like the sound of that concept a lot! I'll definitely check this one out!
It doesn’t have the perfect country song on there though. It MIGHT be my favorite Country album of all time.
The whole album is a giant “Fuck You” to the corporate Country establishment. He signed a sweetheart contract with Columbia that gave him complete creative control, when he turned this in Columbia was pissed, No one was making country albums like this when it was released. The label heads hated it but had no choice but to release it as it was and all it did was go on to reach #1 on Billboards Country album charts and eventually certified double platinum. It MIGHT be my favorite Country album of all time.
But it has regret and sadness in spades that you can drink to and the Preacher character kills his wife, her lover and a yellow haired lady that fucked with his horse. It doesn’t have the perfect country song on there though.
Because he hadn't said anything at all about mama
Or trains, or trucks, or prison, or getting' drunk
True, true. I just can’t resist a David Alan Coe reference when I can sneak it in.But it has regret and sadness in spades that you can drink to and the Preacher character kills his wife, her lover and a yellow haired lady that fucked with his horse.
You don’t haveta call me darlin’, darlin’.True, true. I just can’t resist a David Alan Coe reference when I can sneak it in.
IS IT SKEE LO TIME?!?!

Yes, I've got the VMP exclusive of Dolly Parton's Jolene! I really like that exclusive! I love the song "Jolene" so much and "I Will Always Love You" too! The album is a really sweet, cute, sincere and lovey-dovey listen. ♥@NathanRicaud you have heard Jolene right? That song and album are both beautiful pieces of work. And Dolly is one of the sexiest of all time.
