Vinyl Me Please Rap & Hip Hop

36, Supreme Clientele, Tical, Liquid Swords, Only Built. Gravediggaz is not a Wu project, it's a Prince Paul project that RZA happened to be a part of.
Fair enough but he said Wu related so I went a little liberal! I like that there aren't any double artists on your list but I think I'd put Ironman or even Only Built 2, which might be a controversial opinion, over Tical. Return maybe on a day I'm feeling crazy.

So, got a reply from jason about my outkast, that they don't do returns at the moment and i can keep the free record. Was there anyone here who desperatly was looking for it. I would be willing to pif or send anywhere at price of shipping.
Edit: pif goes to @MrMoore

Personally, I think there's too much rap and bullshit on Ironman. Only Built ain't even in the same convo as the rest.. ditto for Return. Overall, the first round of solo albums was their best output except maybe Supreme Clientele. Then it's just arguing which are the best out of the first round of solo efforts.. but even then, I don't think Ironman or Return belong in that conversation.

I think part of the reason why I like Only Built 2 so much is that it was so disappointing that they only had one really great album in them each. Other than Ghostface I guess. I wasn't expecting the quality of Only Built 2 at all.

You need Tical on vinyl! If you think Beyoncé has bars on Apeshit, then you’re going to be mind blown with bars Method Man has on Tical! 😂

Bring The Pain is so smooth, fun, old school and the bars on that song are crazy! In a way, that track reminds me of Eric B & Rakim’s Paid in Full, with how the bars stack on to each other and progress.

I can’t even compare Paid in Full aesthetically to any other hip-hop track, so for that reason alone, YOU NEED TICAL!!!

Nathan! I really appreciate your concern of my lack of Wu - but believe me when I say i'm pretty familiar with this album as well as the Wu's first round of solo LPs. I don't not like the album but I don't really think of it as essential to my collection. Some of these tracks are essential to Wu discography for sure tho. Agree with you on Bring the Pain that as well as What the Blood Clot, Release Yo Delf, All I need. They frequent all of my Wu / Hip Hop playlists.

My only thing about it is the album is pretty lofi-gritty to begin with and I dont really need a VMP pressing of this.

PS Controversial but I actually don't own 36 chambers or any of Rza's early wu production solo albums. Even tho I love 36 Chambers, Cuban Linx, Liquid Swords.

*and even further controversy.......... I actually like Tical 2K more except for all the skits. That would be a definite keep :)

I haven't swapped it out yet tho.. still debating.

i ask myself out of all the classic '90s era WU solo albums why did they choose Tical?Tical is very underwhelming to me.

I love Tical and I'm still mystified by this choice. It's readily available and cheap. And there's the reason they picked it. They're re-using masters / stampers and just putting a color variant on it. The cost to them is minimal. Thats' the reason they're doing it instead of something we actually want or need.

Did my good deed and swapped out Tical so that some other poor sob can get it.

Man I sure did miss these posts. 😆

So I'm seeing now that long time members who have had RHH subbed since the beginning of their memberships, had their RHH subs randomly dropped on announce day and are unable to re-sub to get Tical due to the "sell out". All this after Storf said equal numbers were pressed of Tical and Outkast so everyone currently subbed would get it. So not only are people not getting it, they're being arbitrarily kicked out of the sub.

Huh.
Huh huh...
Huh huh huh huh...

Will be interesting to see what happens with the Chance albums released today and how that potentially ties into the RHH/Essentials sub and exclusives moving forward. I was tempted to pick up Acid Rap but at $85AUD shipped it was a bit much. Hopefully VMP do their own releases.
There is rumors on another forum that when chance's site first updated it said something about VMP handling these, so I'd imagine they are doing something. I'll probably order via Chance's site, but with international shipping it's probably worth the wait for you to see if VMP lists it.
