The Bar-Kays’ Money Talks, made up of tracks they recorded at Stax before the label collapsed, assembled and released after it was revived by Fantasy Records and the band had jumped ship to Mercury.

That’s the cost for a one month subscription for International members (like me). At least that’s how much it was for me.

It's because of the shipping costs mostly. But if you buy a lot from VMP I think you'd end up saving in the end versus ordering separately from other international shops.

I bet they didn't count the box, or the 200g since it has Unknown as the year. For the record I agree with you, they clearly exist. I just know the mental gymnastics VMP marketing will do to ensure they can get their hype out there.I truly hate that they do the whole "US reissue" thing and make it seem like people can't possibly buy a pressing from Europe hah. It's also just false...

And if your argument is that the box shouldn't count...then the above version was on Quiex SV-P which was first used in 2002...so it's not the first US re-issue...

The Lord Finesse is going to be amazing as well! The colour variant looks great too! And even though it’s a lot of music on a single LP, I am positive the pressing will sound amazing!

I mean...I bought it anyway hah. But still just insane to me that their process as a company is just to scroll quickly on discogs and say "Don't see US more than once! We're good to go!!! Print that copy!!"

It was worth it for the Albert King & Prince Paul records, since they’d done a great job with both vinyl pressings and they’re both great albums. This Bar-Kays record tho... I’m not feeling as much.

I was just commenting on how the booklet looks to be a great addition (track-by-track) and @siremobunny pointed out that he has the exact same booklet in his 2015 European Reissue. In the interview, Storf states "we did everything packaging-wise to make this the definitive version of this record.", when in reality that just means a coloured record and art print.
Its still going to be a great set by the looks of it, but annoying the way the interview and accompanying photos reads as if the booklet is something they put together.

I'll admit that I checked my copy for the booklet to see if I wanted the VMP version...
I mean the art print is cool but is it worth it to buy what is essentially the same pressing but on GZ instead of RTI on coloured wax and the art print.... Nope, that makes no sense
