Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Im interested in rejoining this month to secure my spot in the hip hop track for the Young Thug next month, but don’t currently see anything in the main tracks I’m interested for.

Question: is it possible to swap your first month of resubbing for credit or any another item on the swap list? I’m pretty well versed in swaps, just never really dealt with the whole resubbing since I never let my subscription lapse till I called it quits.

Yep! You can resub and immediately hit swaps if you’d like!

I may have to give this another listen later as I'm skipping through tracks now. But I can't shake the feeling that the first half to two thirds of the album feels "samey". Like the same melody in the background with the sax and quiet strings....it seems to go on forever. I noticed after awhile that several tracks had actually passed when I thought it was one.

EDIT: I think this is something that needs to be listened to in a quiet room at full volume with 100% of your attention, not just "skipping through tracks while working to see if I like it".

EDIT 2: Yeah, definitely not the way to be played. It's pretty damn good. Fantastic even. Don't sleep on this one.

Took me by surprise that it was one long track but I’m hooked on it; put it on during a long drive yesterday and got completely blissed out

Man, reddit is getting pretty bad for "My vinyl didn't look exactly like the mockups and customer service didn't give me a refund" posts. VMP's disclaimers really need some work. I get it's disappointing when they post a beautiful mockup and the end product isn't up to snuff, but the alternative is paying a lot more because VMP is handing out replacements like candy.

EDIT: I fully believe that this wording is going to get them into some shit someday. Slightly is very subjective.
*Actual vinyl color and effect may slightly differ from mockup.

I knew it was going to be a problem for a lot of people the moment they posted the mock-up of Kid Cudi. That first LP was bound to come out dark. Mine actually looks pretty good though.

So...Noga Erez thoughts anybody? I feel like Billie Eilish and MIA had a love child and did a couple Gorillaz songs and despite all that I dig it.

I didn’t like it at all unfortunately. Here was my thoughts a couple of months ago:

So.....I checked out the singles for Noga Erez’ upcoming album and I just didn’t really like any of them at all unfortunately. The singles had a bright, harsh, artificial sound to them and Noga’s cartoonish vocal and energy sounded too forced instead of confident and swagger like. Also, it just sounds like she’s drowning in her influences.

“You So Done” sounded straight up like a Billie Eilish ripoff, with her quiet, monotonish vocals. However, instead of sounding sultry like Billie, she sounds drab! Also, with the strikingly alarming and loud chorus, sounds like a Bury A Friend ripoff. “VIEWS” sounds so much like a Gorillaz song, with those bright synths and the male robotic vocals in the chorus which sound like they’re impersonating Damon Albion. The track is just so messy and the song climaxes into the chorus which sounds so anticlimactic. Then you have “End Of The Road” which has an extremely irritating and aggressive chorus. The production sounds like a pharrell ripoff and there’s just something very synthetic and commercial-ready about the track I don’t like. There’s something very try-hard Fergie about her vocals on that song and I just don’t dig it. Won’t be getting the exclusive!

You write better when you’re bitching than when you’re celebrating 🤔

Really!?! Maybe it’s because during that time I had emerged from the darkness! 😈👹🤣

I’ll give the album a listen and will re-review the singles and will review the album and it’ll be a positive review! 😉

It’s more focused and leans less on streams of superlatives prefixed by completely unnecessary adverbs. Basically when you like something what you write comes off as a big long squeal lol.

True! I used to explain more in depth why I liked something but don’t really do that anymore. I just try and keep it brief so I use all the descriptive words I think of when describing a song or album. I’ll try and go back to being like that in the future instead of ‘rave-squealing’! 🤣

Honestly, when I was looking at my copy of Cudi I didn't even realise it was coloured. I thought perhaps the black was supposed to represent space or something. It wasn't until some light flashed behind it that I even saw the colour.
