Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Picked up Destroyer's Rubies, my favorite album of his and I haven't seen it at a reasonable price in a while, so this seemed like as little risk of a purchase as there can be with VMP these days.

Nancy Sinatra up as well. $44 for non-members lol.

May end up grabbing this as I have $35 in credit laying around. Never listened before but its right up my alley so far.

Rough Trade UK had a better-looking (IMO) red and yellow variant up on their site yesterday, but seem to have taken it down. VMP is probably cheaper for members, all told, shipping considered. But, given the cover-heavy tracklist on Boots, I think I'm content with the compilation from LITA last year.

August is my last month as a VMP member after 5ish years. I wasn't around when swaps opened yesterday, so a few good options are now gone (including Withers as a swap). I'd love to get advice for my final record. Here's what I'm considering:

1) Four Tet
2) Open Mike Eagle
3) Nada Surf
4) Getting another Demon Days and gifting it to a friend.

Open Mike Eagle can almost always be purchased for cheaper than swaps, unless you're still geandfathered in on the cheaper plan - even then worth checking.

FWIW I love that Four Tet. But keep in mind there were a lot of warps on it. But they will have replacements for years on that one.

If you haven't picked it up, I recommend Streethawks. The 2011 reissue is a Kevin Gray mastering and is sounds amazing.

Streethawk is my favourite of his albums, mainly because I saw Dan a couple times solo around then (once at a 100 person movie theatre, another opening for Cat Power), after he'd gotten back from Spain and Montreal to avoid playing New Pornographers shows. Funny enough he's playing with them this fall for their throwback shows.
