I'm VMP->Greensboro->DC->Richmond->Harrisonburg, and rarely have issues. Other than December of last year, the latter portion of that journey is usually only 2 days and is quick.

Damn, it looks like they aren't offering me that either, but I got the offer last year too. I've got the month to decide if I want this for $33/mo plus tax.
Anyone know if they ever extend offers to try to get people to come back after cancelling?
I know when my quarterly old price special expired they did NOT offer to extend it at the old $$$. I thought sure they would offer to extend when I clicked cancel but no such luck.
So, I dropped my membership for several months b4 I threw my principals out the window and renewed at the new price.

So it seems I get another year of grandfathered pricing! I got the deal last year, when they were barely rolling out notices about the change in pricing, so it seems I may have slipped through the cracks... Though it does say that add on tracks will be $33 this month only and go up to $43 on the next.
But hey, I don't mind. $299 for the year is alright for me. Never had many serious issues with VMP and hmthey always fixed things for me, so I guess I'll jump on this and check what the year brings!

That's disappointing. That $399 is gonna fucking hurt but I just don't see a better option to stay subscribed.
3 month and 1 year plans are the only ones that make sense to me.
3 months you can pick and choose and fill out a back catalog assuming stuff stays in stock in spurts throughout the year. I'd imagine the best strategy here would be to do two 3 months plans in a year, so 6 months total that you have the option to split up unless another 3 month span was just bangers and you just eat the loss in value.
1 year you just save the most money while getting the most records and hardly ever miss anything you actually want. I personally do this plan and I enjoy that I can just pay it up front and then my records feel "free" throughout the year and I just pay for add-ons. It's also the best value per month, and I very rarely have a month where I want none of the records. With the swap to store credit option, this fear is basically eliminated.
Month to month is absolutely mental to me unless you only grab a very small handful of records from them a year and cancel immediately.
The 6 month plan is just too much of a commitment and you likely end up just renewing over and over. Might as well save the $40 and do a year plan unless it was a gift. I don't really see a reason for anyone to do this unless they love the next confirmed 3 months and have a bunch of records in VMP's back catalog they want to fill out, or they just have faith that the following 3 would be great as well. You only save $20 bucks in 6 months going from 3 months to 6 months, though... so I don't know if that reward is worth the commitment.

I keep the 3 month sub and add on all the tracks, cancelling any I don't want. If I don't want any, I usually swap out my main for the credit -- usually I use the credit towards any cool drops that are worth it. It's rare that they drop in any really great swaptions. The backup plan, which I haven't been able to implement because I have found drops to spend the credit on, but if I were to have enough credit saved up, I'd ask to convert it to subscription credit. Essentialy dropping my monthly tracks to 33 and subsidizing my drops purchases.

But do you just roll the 3 months indefinitely?
I guess that gives you an "out" if you wanna stop on a whim, but if you just keep it rolling why not just commit to a 1 year if you always find something you like or swap for credit that you use?

Because I almost always swap my main, any tracks I do get, I get for 33 vs 43. The 43 for my main they're holding onto as floating credit, kinda. Or they would be, except I keep using it for drops.

Helluva line-up!
This one came up in something I was reading or looking at in the past few months, but can't recall where.
While the price is a bit steep, the AAA Sterling Sound factor coupled with the difficulty to get it otherwise gives value where the gouge pricing doesn't always, I reckon. I certainly can't afford to pick it up, myself, but would very strongly consider this one if I weren't strapped.
