Curious to see The Hawk Flies High listed, maybe they are pretty low in stock with it after this month's swaps closed.

Noob question: how do the TBT releases show up on VMP’s site. Someone here told me when to look (3rd thurs;noon est), but is it something on the homepage? Or one of the shopping pages?

I think they change up the URL sometimes, but this month it's currently Throwback Thursday Restock

It seems also that they're consistently doing it on the Thursday before the next announcement day, or the third Thursday of the month. So we can reasonably guess that the next TBT will be at noon EST on Thursday, October 21.

Isn't the Beyonce just a regular black pressing though? shocked that it sells for so much.

According to Discogs there was only ever an official black 2LP set that comes with a booklet and DVD.

It's crazy but really does go for that much. I bought a copy with the DVD missing back in 2018 for £10 and sold it last year when I culled a load for £75 plus postage. Im thinking I should have held onto it now.....

I feel like they are just trying to offload copies of Hawk since it was said they had tons of them in stock. I'm debating picking one up eventually...but just bought a bunch of records so holding off for swaps next month.

Yes, the Beyonce is a black pressing, but the package is beyond impressive. I can't believe they were selling it for $40. I picked it up as a swap in 2019, so it was like $25 then. Beyond Discogs "value," it's the nicest record I own.

Same, they musta had like 3 copies. Entice people with Eddie and then see if you can instead move some of your stagnant stock. It’s almost a bait and switch.

1) Does CS still let you switch Store Credit to Membership credit when I'm up for renewal?

2) Any feedback on the quality of pressing of the following titles I'm considering:

Dead Boys - Young, Loud & Snotty
Bill Evans - Symbiosis
Joe Henderson - Mirror, Mirror
Sons of Kemet - Black to the Future
Jazz is Dead 4 (Azymuth)
Dadawah - Peace and Love

1) Yes, you need to send them an email saying you want them converted to membership credits, and they will automatically deduct when renewals come around.

I have the black Sons of Kemet and it's great. If the pressing is the same with a different color then you're good.

@TCell - just FYI it looks like it IS similar pressing details, the one I have is pressed at Pallas, the VMP is Furnace which I think handles Pallas stuff in North America? Could be wrong.

They all sound great. I prefer the Henderson over the Evans MPS, but thats more a personal preference. The Sons Of Kemet is one of my favourite albums of the year and this pressing sounds great to me.

I have the Jazz is Dead 4 (Azymuth) on its way to me but I literally only had shipped for it in the past 30mins. I would say that the first 3 that I had all had issues. Mega warped and one had a strange surface noise constantly. BUT VMP replaced each of them and the replacements do sound great. I think its pot luck with that series as to whether you get a good copy or not.

Sons of Kemet sounds good but it’s a shitty press. I have a 4th copy on the way…..

Mostly bad warps and off centre issues. No audible issues so far. I better find some wood to knock on.

Edit: I had a black copy from Amazon before the VMP came in and it was perfect.

I mean it is National High Violet screwup bad, but it isn't good.

Also worth noting for @TCell that I think black pressings of those MPS titles also exist and should be somewhat widely available if that sways your thinking at all. I have the VMP of Mirror, Mirror ordered but they wouldn't bundle it with my ROTM for some reason even though I ordered it at the same exact time as Lee Morgan and they were both in stock...
