Yup. Was a full blown taco box. Which I spent ages with CS sorting to then inexplicably flip the box.

Yeah it was a pain in the ass getting clean copies of everything, I gave up eventually. My Piano pressing in particular is still a bit noisy, not awful but it’s definitely not a black background. Had to replace at least 3 different records with multiple copies of each.

I like that you had to check. I might not be able to tell you every album in my collection but I’m pretty sure I remember if I have a box set, especially an exorbantly overpriced VMP one.

Unfortunately, it came out right at the peak of the pandemic when QC took a nose dive just about everywhere. I had off-center issues on 1+1 and The River, and I went through about four or five replacements of Head Hunters which were the biggest dish warps I'd ever seen. I never did get a flat HH so just had to rely on the kindness of a fellow N&Ger to flatten a copy for me.

So yeah, eventually I did get a lovely-sounding, flat box set, but man it was quite the ordeal. Having said that... I never had an issue with either VSOP disc so hopefully you folks who picked it up in TBT will be blessed with flat, quiet records.

I believe it was a 10 year anniversary thing, so if it’s not ending at the top of the new year I’m guessing it’d end a year from when the promo started, whenever that was!

Working through the Cadet box and, while I appreciate this is easy for me to say after getting 40% off, it’s brilliant. It would have been worth it at full price.

Five albums in and it’s my probably my fave thing that VMP have done of the various things I’ve picked up over the years. Absolute bangerfest

I was fortunate enough to have the dough to get both Miles and Cadet at full price and do not regret either purchase. Whatever criticisms there are of VMP as a company etc, they fucking nailed both of those boxes

10 out of 10 eggplant emojis, the selections on cadet were so so good it was incredible. And then when I put on IASW and Jack Johnson and it was like listening to them the first time. 12 out of 10 eggplants.

Yeah, it's definitely become my favorite VMP anthology in my collection (I also have Blue Note, Herbie, and Miles). Just a great variety of different music churned out in a few short years from this record label. It's helped me appreciate the Cadet label more and I've started going down the rabbit hole of actively seeking out other Cadet (and Argo) releases.
