Also seems like the mondo guys got fired, which is not a shock. Rob Jones posted about it on social media.
Hopefully they go to Mutant

My guess is that VMP killed all $ for salaries. So not fired, made redundant in corporate speakWhy though?

More likely, these projects weren’t doing as well as they expected and were more expensive than projected as well. And unlike the VMPlant stuff, it looked like we were just starting to see the fruits of Mondo's labor in the last couple of months with those limited poster drops.
My complete guess is that the plant funding falling through and the constant sales to drive up cash flow were connected. And c-suite being fired is because they were supposedly funneling VMP money into the plant.More likely, these projects weren’t doing as well as they expected and were more expensive than projected as well.
It’s their scale issues as usual but there are folks in the board telling them to cut the fat instead of trying to fumble through as they would have done when it was like six people doing everything.
Firing the executive suite, massive sales, instensive focus grouping on discord, rebranding of side projects and dropping staff brought on for expansion projects does not paint the picture of a company doing well. Although in the days of late capitalism it doesn’t exactly mean they are closing but not producing enough money to keep those in charge of the purse strings loose and freely flowing.

Not shocking when a new CEO is installed that changes to staff get made. Wouldn’t be surprised if the salaries of the mondo guys was more than they made on the very very few albums and posters they made in the past 6 months. Where’s the goonies soundtrack?
They are definitely trying to right the ship in a number of ways (not just financially). We’ll see if they actually make some big changes in curation and how the company is run and how members benefit. All I’m saying is that together, the recent events/actions of VMP do not create a warm fuzzy feeling or the picture of a company doing well.
FYI: no new information in this video. In short: it’s hard to press records.
Add to the list: using more time effectivelyVMP has a long list of things that they have found to be hard to do.

This could be true, but the real question is how much have those numbers - and sales - been propped up by the ridiculous offers that they rolled out continually, throughout 2023. And more importantly, how many folks will actually choose to renew, given recent curation and the extortionate pricing? My prediction is that another round of promos is coming. In either case, I would imagine that trouble is brewing. Most of the time companies fail because of poor management decisions not because of how well sales and business is going. So it's a hard thing to judge but I don't think sales and business are hurting based on the 20,000 subscribers and the fact that all of their latest blunders have been blunders in an attempt to vastly expand their business. Adding more tracks and more anthologies were hits but trying to have their own plant and add the soundtrack feature were misses.

Yes— I imagine that they need something to entice those who joined with the 8 free records promo to remain as members. I’m in that boat and without a good promo to cut the cost down, I probably won’t rejoin for a year long sub and more likely will dip in and outThis could be true, but the real question is how much have those numbers - and sales - been propped up by the ridiculous offers that they rolled out continually, throughout 2023. I picked 8 freebies and sold half of the ones I didn’t want to recoup more money back. With the freebies, a US subscription came out to something like $18 per album. Even less once I sold 4 of themCould you pick 8 free records? I couldn't in December and they've only got worse in the curation since then...
