Maybe they should go back to the old model of not selling things until they actually have them. No, you aren't going to know about preorders ahead of time but given their track record on the new model, maybe the old way was the right way.

Or what had been my preference, announce what pre-order albums you will have and then sell them once you know you will have them in and go back to the once a month store drop.

Well, I sent VMP an email asking why FIVE store exclusives were announced delayed on the same day.

Jason replied giving a vague answer of "production delays", and then gave me $10 store credit.

The old way was the right way for the customer. The new way is the way to make sure they sell quickly. The later they go up for sale, the more risk there is that the potential buyers have already purchased a copy somewhere else.

That's why I suggested announce them but sell them later. it is a weird middle ground, but if they keep having them get delayed I imagine sales will drop. But that is probably true in my thought too.

Probably won't help sales. People aren't rational actors. Why would I decide not to buy a desirable variant today in favor of the chance to buy an equally desirable one in 3 months?

Yeah, the only winning situation would be VMP growing the fuck up and sorting their problems out as no professional company would actually allow this to happen time and time again.

Got my THIRD Nat Turner today. The worst of the bunch. First track skipped so much I didn’t even listen to the entire thing. Insanity at this point to ask for another copy. Just gonna send me the same thing. Just send me a copy of Soul Makossa and be done with it.

My copy was perfect. Flat, clear, no skips. I got a second wave copy.

My Nat Turner pressing (first batch, I was one of the lucky SOBs) sounds fantastic. Only issue I had is a visible scratch on the 45 although it seems to be cosmetic only, I don't hear any problems when playing it.

My NTR is so clear that it's actually transparent, I literally can't see it... Still waiting for my first copy, I have two records on my way and both are still in the US. I asked yesterday what shipping method they used for the second shipment (apparently first got lost) and Jason answered me that they used the same method as usual. When I said that it was another miss from VMP, that they could have shipping using an express shipment, he apologized and offered $20 in credits... Thank you Jason but no.
