Weren't people complaining about the pressing plant (Rainbo) from the jump that their pressings are generally horrible?

Even so, VMP should own this and make it right. This is a near black record when it's supposed to be only red and green.

My Ella came super green with hints of purple, instead of clear with splatter, but it's fine. It's close to the mockup. This is record is nowhere near acceptable.

I see a black record. That's the farthest thing from the mock up I've ever seen.

You obviously haven't seen this:

I just got Etta Jones and it sounds incredible. It is pretty far from the Mock as well though. It's hot pink with VERY minimal white streaks.

Is there a way to find mockups for items that sold out?

Usually if you just goolge the name of the album with 'vinyl me please' and click photos there will be one.

So I guess that's what happens when they're putting stuff up for sale that they most likely haven't even received a test press of. How trash is that? Their exclusives were the coolest thing about the club, especially since they a) were actually exclusive b) looked great. Every month that goes by it seems like they're no longer able to do 'a' and it's more a case of them getting some sloppy seconds shared between Newbury/Sound of Vinyl/Amazon/the band themselves, and now 'b' isn't even true anymore.

I thought Rainbow was just for the Ella album?? Apparently Paul admitted on Reddit his couple is basically the same color as mine

Yeah I gotta say I’m pretty impressed by this Etta record! That being said, Rainbo can’t center a label for shit.

Just reactivated via an email. Chose free record and then track so I could for sure get Brubeck.

Nothing happened. Got email 15 mins later for charge of record but not indication of what it is , and certainly no indication of the free record. Nothing in orders as of yet.

Already emailed , but curious if anyone knows what to expect next ?

Anyone else get the Willie Colon release? I'm listening to it now and the horns are just.... brutal. Like absolutely shrill and almost hard to listen to. I'm going to give it a cleaning to see if that helps but yikes.

Yes, me too!

I wonder if it's like that on the original? I'm streaming it via Qobuz and the horns aren't great but nowhere near as bad as on the vinyl. I think it's probably just how it sounds on the tape. I went into this blind so I guess I'm just surprised.
