Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Mine still said shipping estimated early December the other day but now doesn't say estimated ship date. They almost always take off the store pages on exclusives once they are sold out.
That's one of my biggest pet peeves with VMP - there's no reason to remove store pages completely once something sells out. Maybe have a separate page for all the sold out records, but it would be nice to go back and look at pressing numbers, different colors, etc.

When I first signed into the new store it listed our old SoCal address but I was able to change it and didn't have any issues today. I also paid with ApplePay which was nice to have as an option.

Yeah, to be clear, *most* of the address is updated. But none of the stores I use that use shopify have an option for the second "name" line (which is what lists my firm name). And since the shop doesn't have that field, I can't update/delete it. But it still shows up on the confirmation page.

Basically this is something that I could easily fix if Shopify bothered to let customers access their profiles directly.

It seems like in all the time it took to make this happen, they would have remastered it

Maybe her/her team didn't want it remastered or didn't want to authorize a remastering and instead just wanted it reissued? Maybe that's part of why it took so long and why Storf was always cagey about it actually happening. I mean it's weird that Extraordinary Machine isn't getting pressed. You'd think they would want all releases out but maybe something larger is in the works.

I've got the original pressing of 'The Idler Wheel...' and I kinda want the repress...just because. Am I being silly? (Maybe).
In light of this, I say only get the new press if you are unhappy with pressing defects like noise or warp on your original. GZ doesn't have a great record on that either, but generally a slightly better chance than United.

Double FWIW: It states: “you can’t get this specific variation anywhere else”. Regardless if it isn’t limited it should make it to swaps, I love Fiona but this won’t be a big as the Mariah release.
Exactly. Is there any reason I shouldn't wait till swaps? I feel like some records aren't swap options because they are expensive, but at 27-32, and apparently not limited, this ought to be an option in the future, right?

I asked them to stop removing the pages in one of their email surveys...which i don't believe they listened to any opinions members had.

what i really want is an update on danny brown's "uknowwhatimsayin?" because rn, there's no store page for it and my orders page looks funny.
I missed the fancy VMP version but my amazon standard black was pushed back til Dec 2 so chances are VMPs will be as well

I guess I'm confused. If it's not limited in any way and anyone can buy it, what's the fuss about? Are they just first to market with this and it will inevitably end up at Bull Moose for $18-$22 in a month or two?
I’m assuming this will be a VMP exclusive pressing for a while, similar to Mariah Carey. It’ll be essentially an unlimited pressing until their rights expire for it. Then I’m sure it will see a wide release through other retailers.

It might be available eventually but I don’t think within the next year or so. VMP is still the only retailer that has Tidal repress right?

There was a bit more love put into the Tidal repress though. Remastered. 12pg booklet etc... You know, that old skool love, that VMP treatment we use to get as a bonus with our vinyl purchases.

Ahh...the good ol days, when Trump was sworn in as president, Britain triggered article 50 and VMP stood by their mission and were the best damn record club...
