Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I think the tomato just wants an apology for your misstatement about their behavior. While you have said it wasn’t your call, you also stated that the person whom was banned, @timmy tomato, was banned after warnings and repeated behavior. It’s cool if you didn’t ban them. But you did come in here and state that @timmy tomato is a plain ol’ bad apple.
More or less. But also, storf isn’t a regular user being bullied. He is the public representative of a company that is currently fucking over a whole bunch of people. He jumps in threads where people are worried, tells the people who have paid money for nonexistent records to “just email support” because it “isn’t his department” and 5 minutes later posts about new record that are going to be available on a store that doesn’t work.

His behavior is fucking gross and toxic, and it deserves to be called out, because he makes that community worse. Bruising his porcelain-fragile ego/masculinity by doing so shouldn’t be a bannable offense.

Pepe's Bridgeport is the one people love now.
The owner of the one in New Haven made some shitty comments that supported gun nuts and white supremacy, sooooooo many of us won't use it anymore.
Too bad Bridgeport tastes better and has less wait time... oh... wait...

Wow. Didnt hear about those comments. Wished I was still living in Bridgeport to try that location. Actually, I dont wish I was still living in Bridgeport, lol.

Black Rock is still pretty awesome.
And there's the arts center near the courthouse. LOTS of great music and art coming out of pockets of the city!

this sounds like being an asshole.. i just didn't know the last one.. i dont wanna shop at a bad place...and i just want my sweet sweet indie shit

(also btw i meant like ANY stock at turntable labs.. like everytime i look up a record id want its always "get a stock email")

Didn’t mean to come off like an ass, deleted. PizzaStore was meant to be recordstore.us or recordstore.uk (great place to get signed albums)

Yea, I haven't been to the New Haven one since the Bpt one opened (especially since my family is from Bpt); I also haven't lived in CT for a while so no idea about comment craziness. They got diff owners? Always figured it was family-owned or they franchising? I remember when the Bpt one opened people thought it would be diff cause of the water. Bpt tastes awesome to me - that clams casino is my jam. Fun fact (and if it's still there): the Fairfield metro line station has an awesome pizza place)

Same family owning it...
When you say Fairfield Metro Line, are you referring to the Fire Engine pizza that's two blocks away?
Connecticut may have a lot of issues, but the pizza IS good :)
And the beer! Within blocks of where I work there are two amazing breweries (Two Roads and Athletic)!

No...Fire Engine is good (they're the ones that used to actually serve pizza out of a fire engine around Black Rock before they had a storefront, right?)

Actually in the station....if it's still there

PS I am aware that some people think my position on bullying is hypocritical. I think it’s okay to dump on people for doing or saying stupid/mean shit. People have agency over their choices of actions and words. I’m not exempt from that rule, and I’m secure enough to take criticism when I am the one to fuck up.

I DON’T think it’s okay to shit on people for who or what they are.

Looks like there's a ton to catch up on in here. Looks intriguing. There is something that I do want to say before digging through anything, because the last thing I remember reading was about reddit mods. When the forum sank, some of us encouraged the mods to scrap the reddit and tell VMP to go fuck themselves. Even though they didn't do that, I do believe that they took the time to think about what that meant. It could be interpreted like they are running a subreddit for the benefit of VMP, but, regardless of differences of opinion or actions or methods or anything, I came to view it as mods like @chrb98 making sure that they owned r/vinylmeplease and weren't handing over their space and relinquishing the entire narrative to VMP. They actually didn't let them have it. I have to commend them for that.

They are also part of this N&G community whereas most redditors probably aren't. I do still see this as a place where we all united together to tell those dicks that they didn't own the community, even if it grew from their platform. If the reddit mods were random shitheads, I wouldn't care, but they shouldn't be addressed like outsiders here anymore than we should be over on reddit, because they definitely aren't. Them running that place doesn't separate them from this place which they are undeniably important members of.

Quoted a bunch of things in the last several pages, but it all distilled to this: the only thing worse than reading pages and pages about VMP’s shipping issues is reading pages and pages of arguments about the moderation of posts about VMP’s shipping issues on reddit.

Thanks for saying what I was feeling.
That place is the only retailer that could cause enough drama to toxify two separate vinyl discussion groups

One of the members on the old forum suggested Experience Unlimited to Cam, he said he'd check it out. Then, months later, they do it and he says in the interview that he discovered the album because he thought the cover was cool while late-night browsing on Discogs. He was called out, said "sorry, he forgot" but they left the interview up with that lie in it. **edit:and deleted the record of the conversation with the forum.
Found @Dead C's chronicling of it:

You may be right, I don't remember that part as well.

Thanks for finding that. I remember reading that interview. Possible he was being coy? Big coincidence if that's the case.

Jeesh - just saw this specific twitter post. Sorry if its old news.

"GOOD NEWS - WE TOTALLY MISMANAGED OUR INVENTORY AND WE FORGOT AN ENTIRE 1/3 OF IT!"

Bigger than they thought? So nobody in the entire company realized that they have an exclusive of one of the biggest artists and that they were off by 500 copies of 1500? INSANITY.

Just don’t say it on reddit or you’ll get banned!
