Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Apparently the new site reverted old addresses and some people are having their orders shipped to their previous mailing address.
This board literally cannot keep up with the VMP screwups and controversies at this point

Every time they try to get back on track with a new announcement.

HEY! We have Fiona dropping this week!
Black Friday sale!
Still Woozy this morning!!

Why in the world do you plan a system migration right before the holidays? It makes absolutely no sense. You do it in the absolute slowest time of the year like February or March so you're not facing the crush of orders at the holiday time. It makes no sense to do this when people are going to get gift memberships for friends, family or loved ones.

when they first "completed" their migration, my address showed up as where I lived in 2015 when I first joined and my current address was my secondary location. it fixed itself a day later (presumably when they did some sort of refresh) and I purged the old address but I will not be surprised if I have to go pick up my package from my old landlord at all...

How is it possible that I can get a the President of VMP to respond to me on LinkedIn within 5 minutes, but CS is keeping me waiting weeks at a time. That is literally your job. To service customers... Well, he said he was sending my issues directly to the CS team after getting additional info from me, i.e. doing what CS should be doing. Let's see if it fixes anything... Not holding my breath.

Vinyl Me Please is so fucking cursed that literally anything bearing the same initialism (VMP) burdens the same curse.

So, the Very Meaty Pizza thing actually inspired me to order pizza for dinner last night. A meaty one, of course.

It arrived over an hour later than it was supposed to. And was sent to the wrong address. The person who got it brought it back to me (he lived just a couple houses down) but let me know that it arrived fucked up. The top of the box was smashed in and there was a pretty big bend down the middle of the box. The pizza inside was ruined because, since the top of the box was smashed in so far, all the cheese and toppings were stuck to the top of the box and not on the pizza anymore. I called the delivery place and told them what happened, and they said they couldn't replace the pizza because they were all out of some of the toppings, but that they'd give me a partial refund. I asked if I could return it for a full refund because I wasn't going to eat a sauce-only pizza, and they hung up on me. I called back again and got a different person on the phone and they told me that they still had all the toppings and that they'd get a replacement pizza sent to me, which arrived two and a half hours later and also was sent to the same wrong address.

I LITERALLY got VMPed for ordering a Very Meaty Pizza.

The irony is of absolutely cosmic proportions.

My membership is not showing up again. Not worried but what a mess this migration was. I have zero faith in this new platform making anything work better. If it worked at the same crap level as the other one it'd be a miracle at this point.
Same thing happened to me earlier, logged in around noon and was told I was not a member.

Just posted my thoughts on this issue in reply to Storf on Reddit.

I don't want to get into a huge fight. I'm incredibly disappointed with how this was handled, and in combination with recent issues that just seem to be getting worse and worse, I've cancelled my membership today.

I do want to make some points though:
  1. Still Woozy is almost literally the only thing this sub has spoken about for months, you had 500 copies available, a limit of 2, and it was open to the public. It is frankly absurd that you thought this wouldn't immediately sell out.
  2. You (personally) actively made statements that suggested this would be members-only initially.
  3. Your website actively stated (and indeed, still states) this is a members-only release, which is a complete lie.
  4. You stated a number of times on this very subreddit that there would be advance notice of this one, and the "notice" came four hours prior to the drop (which, by the way, meant the "notice" arrived at 5am Pacific).
I'm embarrassed to have had anything to do with this "club". This year hasn't been a dumpster fire, this has been a freaking dumpster inferno.

That's the thing, they DIDN'T do a system migration right before the holidays. They did a system migration long before Black Friday, and certainly long before the Christmas shopping season. The issue isn't really their timing, the issue is that they fucked it up on such a colossal, unprecedented level that we're now multiple WEEKS out from the initial migration and it isn't even close to being done. The website is still glitchy as all hell and barely even functional. There's really no words to describe how stupendously catastrophic the site migration has been going, and how unbelievable it is that it's taking anywhere CLOSE to this long. This type of stuff may take a decent amount of time from the perspective of the company working on it behind the scenes, sure. But you don't roll that out to the general public until you're 99.9% confident that things will run smoothly within the day. We're approaching a month of site non-usability. That's mind boggling
