Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

So looks like new options were added to Swaps? This is exactly what we said would happen last month when they made swaps permanent and limited to 1 time.

Shipping records before street date, not shipping long delayed orders, sending out another company's product as their own, changing the swap rules and then screwing over people who swapped on announcement day. Etc, etc, etc.

Buying records from this company is far too much of a handle and a hassle at this point. Feeling so glad I cancelled.

Looks like a little more than a dozen titles. Including Ray Charles, Sister-Kinney, Floating Points, Big Bill Broonzy, Deem Spencer, The Books, DJDS, Common, Jorge Ben, Lil Kim, Loretta Lynn, Schlohmo, Tennis, TI, Nils Frahm, and possibly others. Pretty sure all of these werent there yesterday but I may be mistaken.

I did submit a ticket to VMP about swapping my already confirmed swap to The Books, which wasn't there yesterday. They switched it in about an hour so thats something. Keeping my fingers crossed that I will receive the rest of my orders with Jan ROTM. About half of them are on the way with my Dec ROTM.

I finally canceled my subscription this month. All three tracks for January are weak choices and swaps were super limited. I was only hanging on to grab Fiona or a Townes exclusive as a swap if I could. I might rejoin later but there hasn't really been a great ROTM since April for me. Exclusives are really the only thing it makes sense to buy from VMP directly anymore.

I've gotten zero shipping notices, but who wants a shipping notice when one can just receive good vibes.

Of the albums I expected to receive in December:

Let it Bleed - Arrived on Dec. 23rd. Says "Fulfilled" on my order page.
Black Pumas - Says "Fulfilled" on my order page and I have a DHL tracking # that it shipped Dec. 26th.
BB King - Says "Fulfilled" on my order page and I have a DHL tracking # that it shipped Dec. 26th. (But a separate tracking # than Black Pumas, because why ship things together?)
Lukas Nelson - Still "Unfulfilled".
Ray Charles - Still "Unfulfilled". To be fair, I didn't expect this to ship until January, but other folks have received theirs, so fingers crossed?

I figure Saddle Creek just looks like this and they're pulling records off the pile:

I swapped essentials for queen Latifa. Not super familiar with her music but one of her songs from that album is on that daisy age compilation which I really like. Seems like that record has sat around forever, anyone have any strong opinions on the album or this specific VMP pressing?

It’s a magnificent record! The splatter looks amazing, and the sound quality on the pressing is excellent, even though each side runs for around 25-27 mins! So it’s a bonus having amazing sound quality without having to flip the record! 👌

The music is very diverse too, but very golden-rap era like! You have hip-hop house, hip-hop reggae, hip-hop jazz, east-coast hip-hop, you even have a slow jam on there! 💯♥️

Queen Latifah has a stunning voice as well, and her socially conscious bars, particularly on the last track, are amazing! You’re in for a real treat with this Rap & Hip-Hop ROTM! 💎🍭

My orders from November are still unfulfilled. My December Classics and Essentials ROTMs are also unfulfilled. Maybe VMP will send out a mass email saying that they’ve sent out 99% of all orders and then I can be in the 1% who hasn’t received a thing, including an email response from CS. I love being treated like garbage by a company after I’ve spent thousands of dollars buying stuff from them over the years! Good times!

I am in the same boat. I got no love. Only 2/10 says fulfilled but with no email and with a tracking number that doesn’t work. My Charlie Brown Christmas is not yet fulfilled but Christmas is over. But I live on the other side of the planet so who knows? Maybe they are all on the way, slowly steaming across the oceans

Looking like it's a little bit tougher to get people back to their grandfathered prices than originally thought. From Pauly yesterday (replying to my reply to him from Dec. 3):

I've got $50 in VMP credit now instead of the $10 he was originally giving me to make up the $140 > $150/6-month sub difference. My sub renews in February, so I'll see what the Feb-Apr albums are to see if I keep at it.

Plus Aretha and BB King were on my front porch last night, so that bodes well.
 
So I’m completely fulfilled now with my outstanding orders except for Al Green which I cancelled since its likely oversold anyway. Paul gave me store credit for the corner crunches on TLC as well.

I didn’t get Ray Charles yet despite some receiving It but wasn’t stressing yet since it was originally due in January. Anyone else still waiting on it that received their other orders?
