Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I watched that Living Colour performance on YouTube just last week. Then on Saturday I found this at my local after looking 10 years or so for it:

I found this in Japan on our last trip but had already blown the budget so I passed on it. I wound up finding it again last year at Amoeba in Berkeley and had to buy it right away. One of my favorite albums.

I wouldn't mind if there was a DVD of them from this era attached to the reissue. The show they did at MSG in August 2001 mayyyyyyy just be the best live show I've ever seen.

I saw them do the limited mini tour for Kid A with Handsome Boy Modelling School and it's easily in the top 5 shows I've ever been to. I'm not as much of a fanatic for Kid A (or anything after, really.. more of a OK Computer / Bends dude myself) ... it was just amazing.

I swear I have like two or three copies of this if anyone is looking for one.

My Black Friday order arrived safely, as well as three December RotMs. Some corner crushes with no seam split feel like a victory.

However, still no news on several store exclusives that should have been sent with the RotMs. And they are yet to send a big order with Still Woozy.

A good news is I just received a shipping confirmation on Mobb Deep, with one of the returned items being sent my way probably.

What a flash from the past! A high school Turbo played the hell out of that album.

Their version of "Memories Can't Wait" is what started a teenaged Turbo down the Talking Heads rabbit hole.

Anyone else been spinning Cornelius’ “Point” and have just been getting dizzyingly and groovingly lost in the music, feeling like life is an amazing rollercoaster! 🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🎉🥳🤪🎢🎠
I plan to spin it this weekend...the variant is one of the coolest looking ones I've seen. Kind of reminds me of the VMP Beach House Devotion, but blue instead of gold on clear, where the blobs of blue are kind of metallic looking....the mockup didn't do it justice

My 2019 VMP purchases with a quick 1-10 rating (cost, package, sound, and # of spins). Anything 6 and up, I'd be happy to repurchase. I keep trying to get better about this every year. And this is just like, my opinion, man!

Solid list and ratings. You're not too high on Fathers & Sons though, I love that album so much, what a great reissue. That one is a 9 or 10 for me. Hard to put anything above most of those AAA Classics we got this year that sound phenomenal, plus De La Soul with that amazing packaging. 3 ft High and Rising might be the most impressive reissue VMP has ever done top to bottom.

I really don't know why BB King resonated with me so much, but Muddy Waters did not. I think the harmonica may have bored me after awhile... Give me all of your angry emojis! :D
