Vinyl Storage Recommendation

love the symbol stuff, the dream is to eventually get an aero (will save enough by 2077) . can that really hold 250 records though? with sleeves i'd be surprised if it could hold 150

You're definitely right, no way it holds 250. Just did a quick rough count and I have about 75 in there right now and I would say there is maybe room for another 30-40. Granted some of what I have in there are double or even triple LPs and I didn't even count the one box set which could probably be swapped for another 5 LPs. I also wonder how many they estimated for that top portion you see to the right of the turntable. I am sure their estimation includes loading that part up, but I don't plan on really doing that since its so close to the turntable and I don't want anything to accidentally bump it. I am treating that top area as my "new arrivals" holding area for now.

So with all that said, yeah I would guess 100-150 is probably a more realistic number for most people.

They're probably using classic 70s-80s standard-weight single-LPs as measurement.

I bought a pack of these which i like. Clear and resealable and is a good fit for the One-Step. Don't know the brand, though, since i got them loose. And not that cheap, at least not at this place: 5 Outer Sleeves for Vinyl LP Box Sets Protection Transparent Polypropylene Plastic 30mm

Only slight downside, i guess, is the top sides...

I also use something like this when handling the box-set 😬 (Fingerprints are bad, mmkay)

I hate how sexy that box set collection looks to me and the fact that using gloves to handle vinyl makes so much sense to me. I think I need to go outside more

I'm not doing it to make you feel bad but I was literally looking for a solution today and it looks like vinyl gourmet are serving up what I found on protected.de except they're only giving you 5 for almost the same price that you could get 25 for. Pretty shameless considering they even use the same stock photo.

They also have a smaller size and larger size:

Anyway maybe you only did need 5 like me but in case you need more I wouldn't hesitate to recommend protected. I buy my other sleeves from them as well.

Yeah, they look like they're the same, especially in the demo video for the #1 sleeves. That's pretty lame that Vinyl Gourmet is the same for only 1/5 the amount of sleeves but not really surprising, i guess.

But i have been looking at the other sizes as well so thanks for the links (y)

To be fair, i originally bought the gloves years ago for a Alfred Hitchcock blu-ray box-set which has a weird surface which leaves oily type fingerprints that can't be wiped off. Then they came in handy again (no pun intended) when i got the Ingmar Bergman box-set from Criterion a couple years ago and now the Thelonious Monk set since they have the same type of surface :)

That’s awesome. I’ve been watching a lot of Hitchcock lately (I had seen all the classics but am watching some of the silent films/English black-and-white stuff. It’s good!)

He's my favorite director. If you havn't seen them, i highly recommend The Lodger and Blackmail from his earliest work. Then when it's the sound pictures from the 1930's, there's so many i can recommend haha

I saw Lodger—really enjoyed it— and have been working through what’s available on Max and Prime Video. But it’s cool to see a director I grew up with can, but only really knew one era of his, in his early days when he was figuring out who he was, since he would eventually be a total master

Pete Lorre stole the show in MWKTM and the Secret Agent, he had such a presence I couldn’t focus on anyone else whenever he was on screen

Yes! He was fantastic.

The sequence in Prince Albert Hall is so good it’s no surprise he rips himself off later.

What is everyone using to store their 45's? I'm making an order from Ikea and figured I'd check in to see if anyone has any luck with their storage products.
