Vinyl Weight Quality

Thanks. I have been thinking about this as some of the accessories for the table I am looking at buying. It is the Technics 1200GR2. Curious if you think I need use a specific weight on that table?

Thanks again
As long as the spindle is of proper height and material, I think the Michel clamp is the gold standard and you won’t have to worry about weight loads on the bearing/motor. It also has the added benefit of being able to fix slight warps.

For particular records:

For general safe bet type information:
These are perfect. Just what I am looking for.

Thanks again

I know posting the threads here might seem self serving or something, but I trust the folks here more than anyone else. There is no ax to grind and we have an open mind willing to give an attaboy when necessary and to call a pig from a great as such.

I think with DD there is a train of thought that you don’t use clamps, or only use clamps specifically designed for them, I just can’t remember quite why. I know KAB does one that they had designed for the technics but it is also super ugly.

On the flip side those things are bullet proof and those motors are strong, you aren’t likely to cause any issues with even the most exotic heavy weight.

Well I don’t have an esteemed audio engineer chained to my basement radiator.

I also don’t have a basement, but we digress…
I hear RKS is open to a patron since VMP is no longer ordering new product and you do have that nice new bathroom….

Thanks for the advice. I ended up finding a Technics weight that goes well with the 1200GR2.

Don’t let this get lost. Particularly if you’re starting out - they’re not expensive and can make a nice difference.
Thanks for the advice. I just bought one that is Technics branded for my 1200GR2. Hopefully it works well. If nothing else, the bronze/gold look of it should pop off of the black of the TT.
