Feel no guilt Joe. I recently relistened to The Smiths albums and Morrissey is the stand out part of those albums. He might be a dick but he contributed to great art which has given you great memories. Your Arsenal has some gorgeous tracks like I Know It’s Gonna Happen Someday, We’ll Let You Know. I love that album still and I find it a great compliment that you still play it. Let our memories be free from their makers being pricks

Yeah I know what you mean. Although I disagree on The Smiths. Johnny Marr is one of the best and most inventive guitar players and composers ever and doesn’t deserve to be downplayed. Also there was a magical chemistry between the two of them as songwriters and the four of them as musicians. Not one bad album or single, a pretty remarkable run!

I mean no disrespect to Johnny Marr. I love the guy! But Morrissey was the difference maker. He gave them their identity. He also gave the unique melodicism as the parts that should be verses he wrote as choruses and vice versa. He has said real shitty things recently but Vauxhall and I is as good as any Smiths album, maybe better, and I have great memories listening to it, and Your Arsenal, and Southpaw Grammar. In fact I could have put Southpaw on for your designated word and been extremely happy
