Cassandra Wilson - Glamoured (Blue Note, 2019 Tone Poet Series)
Im not usually a big fan of vocal jazz, but this was on sale just before Christmas on dodax for £18 (I believe it was @Skalap and @uvwxVinyl that first posted about the deal, so cheers guys!) which is a killer price for a double Tone Poet set imo. I really enjoyed it and listening again now its held up compared to my earlier listens. Super chilled and Cassandra's voice is amazing.
Starting with what is easily my favorite part of my collection!
Cafe Tacvba "El Objeto Antes Llamado Disco" [246-247/357]
This is one of my favorite albums from one of my favorite groups(yeah yeah, I know you've heard it before). I will never stop recommending these guys to any real music fan. The evolution and finding that signature style they do so well and so uniquely too. I always compare them to Radiohead, both started in '89 and both groups have seen a similar style of wanting to break free from molds and chains people put them into.
Right now I have two pressings of this, one on black and the other is clear with black smoke. There's also a white pressing I'm missing but haven't seen pop up in a few...
This album was recorded in front of a live audience in four cities around the world(Madrid, Buenos Aires,México City and Los Angeles) and has a great documentary on the making of it.
