What's Spinning

Dennis DeYoung - 26 East: Vol 1 (2020)

This is my first spin in days, and what else than the new record from Styx mastermind Dennis DeYoung! Between this and his amazing anniversary show I saw him put on for The Grand Illusion last year, his voice and energy is still incredible! This is part 1 of what he says will be his final studio album. Seems like he's ending on a high note! Such an amazing career, responsible for countless hit songs and albums!

Grant Green - Grants First Stand (Blue Note BN80 2019)

One final Grant Green record until I move onto something else. This was an unexpected birthday present from my girlfriend and one of the first BN80's I listened to. Very impressed with it, they seem to be much better than the BN75 series.

Day 7 - Africa, play a record that highlights music from the continent of Africa

William Onyeabor - Body & Soul (Wilsfilm Records, 1980 First Pressing)

One of the more trickier William Onyeabor first pressings to find. The sleeve is battered but the record is perfection, without so much of a pop or hiss! Decided to dig out my other releases by Onyeabor, the Luaka Bop box set (vol 1) and a few other OG pressings.
