If I were doing that, I'd grab one of my Xiu Xiu records. I feel that would drive someone to insanity quicker than Merzbow. Then again, depending on the listener's feelings on trashy pop music, a good chunk of my collection could be considered a torture device

I do find noise music oddly calming. Some people's brains are wired to find Brian Eno soothing, mine does that with Merzbow. *shrug*
