What's Spinning

GoGo Penguin - Man Made Object (Blue Note, 2016 First Pressing)

A fantastically different record to what you might typically associate with Blue Note. I was lucky enough to see these guys live as a warm-up for Bonobo a few years ago (before I was aware of them) and was blown away by how much sound they can make with just 3 instruments.

Idk. I really can't stand his stuff before this, but absolutely love Continuum. Haven't even heard anything that came after it though.
Oh I have a soft spot for his first two album as well - they just remind me of a certain period in my life, certain relationships, I feel like I would spin them fairly often for nostalgia’s sake.

Are you going to grab the AOTM or stick with the copy you already have?

I'll just be sticking with this one. Its the MOV one and sounds wonderful if you decide to not jump back into VMP

Yeah it's been a long time since Ive pulled that one out. May have to add to the queue for tomorrow.
To be honest, one of the only reasons why it doesn’t get more play from me is the fact that it’s 45 rpm and I have a U-turn.

Besides that, it’s an all star cast playing at their absolute best and having a good ol’ time. And it’s just super intriguing to have three tenor masters just riffing off each other.
