#13 Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever "Sideways To New Italy"
Rolling Blackout C.F.'s second LP doesn't re-invent their brand of jangly pop and the catchy hooks remain. The music is definitely indebted to "Left of the Dial" 80's indie and there is nothing wrong with that. Standouts are "Falling Thunder", "Cars in Space", "She's There", "The Only One" and "The Second Of The First".
Stan Getz, Donald Byrd & Bobby Jaspar - Volume 20 (Curcio, 1981 Green Box Set)
A live recording from Donald Byrd & Bobby Jasper (I've been listening to his Sam Record releases and they are stunning!) , and an unedited collection of live Stan Getz tracks which were previously collated in a hard-to-find France only release.
Father Tom Vaughn - Joyful Jazz (Concord Jazz, 1976 First Pressing)
Very obscure record. As his name suggests, Father Tom Vaughn was a jazz musician that eventually became a priest, but before that he would often jam with the likes of Kenny Burrell, Paul Chambers, and Elvin Jones. This is a fantastic live recording with some killer piano work. Really surprised this guy isnt more well known.
This is one that I'll always be happy that I got it while it was cheap. The fantastic debut album from the side project of System of a Down's Daron Malakian
