What's Spinning

King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard “Chunky Shrapnel”. Acid Rain Edition. They went all out on these versions. Super nice looking covers with all sorts of printing upgrades. Actually wore gloves to not finger print them. This vinyl version and the Copper Nitrate both look great. Got two versions as international shipping made rationalizing buying two copies easy. Side one sounds good and plays quiet.
Hopefully yours was flat, mine was makes me seasick looking at it

The agutierrezb 2019 record collection challenge

So I've decided to embark on my own personal challenge, which consists of listening every record in my collection before the end of the year. My record collection is not that big -only ~250-, but I still feel like there are a bunch of records I don't give enough attention to, while still adding more titles to my shelves.

For this reason I've set a couple of rules in order to play every record at least once before December 31st: I'll play at least one record a day, going from front to back in the way I have them sorted in my shelf. I can play a different record (i.e. Not the next one in alphabetical order) if I feel like listening to something else in any given moment, but at least one of the records I spin in the day has to be the LP in turn.

I didn't take pictures for the first two days, but I'll try to document the process from here on, so I'll be posting daily on this thread. Wish me luck!
#277: Tame Impala - Lonerism

#278: Koko Taylor - I've got what it takes

Sorry to hear that. Mine are good so far. The 2lp version pictured is very flat. Lp1 both sides play without issues. Hope to spin 2nd LP tonight. The Copper Nitrate looked fine also but I just gave it a quick glance and shelved it.

Hope you can play it or get a replacement. A VinylFlat is almost a requirement these days. Also, I am very lucky to have a VPI SS ring clamp. Saves a lot of headaches but still I have gotten a rare rec that can’t be fixed.

No vinyl flat but going with Kallax fix as someone else mentioned. Fortunately it’s my least favourite of theirs. I love them live and live live albums but this one just didn’t do it for me. It’s also very quiet as in you need to crank it. First bad pressing from flightless, so much so the wife even noticed and she pays zero attention to my musical needs or “hobbies” In her words.

Pressing issues aside (mine great so far / yours not so much) the Audio Quality is a mixed bag. Had a bit of soundboard quality to it. As a veteran of many marginal 70s/80s live rock albums I just turned it up and thought it sounded fine if a little rolled off on the highs. :-). I prefer that over boosted shrill treble.
